Our ethos

When we launched Leeds-List in 2012, we wanted to redefine local media, so we built our brand around you, writing content you want to read on a website that's distraction-free, and we make the same recommendations to you as we do to our friends.

Not only are our original founders still with the business, but they're walking, talking encyclopaedias to Leeds and Yorkshire, with an innate desire to explore, both inside and outside of work. And we look for that same passion in everyone we hire. It’s who we are.

Our writers are committed to going out and exploring. They get to know the city, they try new places and get first hand experience, so they can tell you all about it. Want to know what we’ve been up to lately? Just check out our Instagram or Tiktok feeds!

And it’s not just Leeds. We travel all over Yorkshire. Our writers love nothing more than trying a new walk or discovering a secret speakeasy in a sleepy market town, and we share that knowledge too, with content designed to inspire your next day out with friends or family.

And of course, we talk to local businesses. Whether we’re interviewing Jared at OK Comics or giving Jo at The Swine That Dines a call to find out what’s coming up on their next menu, we combine personal experience with inside info, straight from the source.

When content is paid for, it’s clearly marked with an advertiser panel at the top. Everything else is original, independently curated and recommended by the team.
