Nothing makes us more proud than hearing about the Leeds tech companies who’ve secured the investment they need to drive their business forward.

According to data platform Beauhurst, Leeds has the third-largest population of high-growth companies outside of London, so it’ll come as no surprise that the city’s scale-ups are attracting major investment. These four have all secured a serious funding injection and they’re using it to super-charge their growth. Find out who got the big bucks and why they deserved every penny.

HubRx is developing the UK’s first state-of-the-art centralised automated pharmacy for independent contractors. Which basically means they’ll use the latest technology to help community pharmacies fulfil prescriptions in the most time and cost efficient way, so they can spend more time with patients and less time on admin. They’ve secured a seven figure funding package from HSBC UK to build the 40,000-square-foot hub in Leeds.

Vet AI

Vet AI use groundbreaking technology to predict and prevent conditions from developing in animals. They launched their flagship product, Joii, in 2019 after securing an initial £1 million investment. Since then, they’ve gone from strength to strength and their latest funding round, which secured an undisclosed cash injection from Hill’s Pet Nutrition and Correlation One Holdings, brings total investment in the firm up to a whopping £12.6 million.



Caterpillar is a HealthTech company that incentivises you to fulfil your health and wellbeing goals. They use behavioural science to help create lasting habits and work with rewards programmes you already know and love to give you real world benefits for improving your health. They’ve just received £450,000 from investors, including venture capital firm Jenson Funding Partners, to develop new features and extend their reward partner network.

Created by barrister Sophie Walker, JUST: Access is a social enterprise that’s bringing cutting-edge transcription technology to the legal sector. It automatically and accurately captures witness statements, helping lawyers to comply with new regulations and reform outdated systems. The software, which is guaranteed to be 90% accurate and operates in 20 languages, was made possible by a £300,000 investment from NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance.
