Explore a carefully-curated selection of homeware essentials and Nordic lifestyle pieces at North Home's brand new concept store.

A brand new shopping experience has landed in Leeds, as North Home scales up with a sprawling concept store.

It’s big news for North Home as the Nordic-inspired homeware store has pulled up roots and moved into a huge four-floor space over in the County Arcade. The much-anticipated move took place at the end of November 2024, offering an elevated version of the previous store, bringing North Home’s collection to life in stunning fashion.

Inside you’ll find a showroom with regularly-rotating displays, a gourmet food hall and a retail space akin to the previous shop, while the extra capacity means that owners Kamil Wangin and Simon Hawkins can stock more brands, including many that you won’t find anywhere else in Leeds or the wider region – such as renowned Italian brand Seletti.

North Home have been a rising star on the Leeds homeware scene for a while now, quietly growing a loyal following of hygge-hunting customers. They initially started out as just a few shelves in Scandinavian cafe Fettle, before graduating into opening their own real-life shop as well as their online store. The move marks an exciting step in their journey – and a sign of things to come.

“The new concept store is about offering a shopping experience with the freedom to see products in use,” explained co-owner Kamil. “There’ll be the chance to explore more brands, looks and styles not available elsewhere in Leeds or the wider region, alongside gourmet food, drinks, skin and homeware. Regularly changing displays will help inspire, all within the gorgeous County Arcade.”

The store has opened up next to Boss and opposite the old Flannels store, taking up the corner where the Sunglasses Hut was. Step inside to the ground floor you’ll find a space similar to the existing store, with shelves stocked with everything from crowd-pleasing tableware to sweet-smelling diffusers and candles. Each and every item has been handpicked by Kamil, all designed to spark joy.

Head up to the first floor and you’ll find the showroom, with displays that will change with the seasons. It’s a great chance to see items in a real-life setting and truly grasp the in-person shopping experience with two hands, while picking up handy style and trend inspiration. Simon, Kamil and the team pride themselves on their hospitality, and they’ll be overjoyed to share their passion as you peruse the displays.

Downstairs you’ll find a foodie paradise – a gourmet food hall, full to the rafters with small batch goods made by indie producers from across the UK and Europe. Expect sauces, pastas, meal kits and more, alongside a deli counter and kitchenware for you to cook up a storm in your own home. The best bit? There’ll be a chance to try before you buy – hello, free samples!

And that’s not all – the move sees North Home branch out into skincare, the perfect addition to their popular fragrance collection from Icelandic brand Fischersund. They’re also able to stock more furniture, such as personalised mid-century lounge chairs. And there’s more – the pair are in talks with indie producers about stocking wall art and pottery, with Kamil creating his own pieces as part of a North Home collaborates range.
