Explore new worlds with a thrilling VR experience

Land this prize and you’ll get to take on a VR experience of your choice at Kirkstall’s Park Playground – the UK’s first free-roaming VR park. Free-roaming means you’re not tethered to anything throughout your adventure. Simply pop on a headset, grab your weapon and explore your new world – all in the safety of an 9×9 metre playing arena. Everything’s completely immersive, so whatever you do in real life will actually happen in the game world. With full interactivity, you can communicate with the rest of your squad as you fight to defeat evil!

There are five fantastic games to take your pick from. The child-friendly Mask of the Pharaoh sees you team up to rescue a professor from ancient Egypt, while The Snitch will have you questioning who you can trust in a Traitor-style reality experience packed with exciting challenges. Mission Planet X is a deep space mission where you’ll take on aliens, or you can time-travel to hunt the undead in The Hallow. Prefer things really scary? There’s a horror escape room designed to get your heart racing, but whatever you do, don’t scream!

Debrief over drinks in the lounge & dinner at The Cardigan Arms

After your session finishes you’ll be able to relax in the lounge area, taking advantage of an hour’s open bar, where you and your friends can dive into a selection of canned beers, wines and soft drinks. As you share your experience over a bevvie, you’ll be able to watch live gaming action on the big screen, so you can see how other people tackle the challenge of virtual reality! Once you’ve had your fill of complimentary drinks, it’s time to head down the road for some well-earned dinner.

The final part of the prize is £150 to spend on food at Victorian gem The Cardigan Arms. This much-loved community pub serves tasty, no-nonsense scran – just what you need after your trip off-world! Take your pick from a selection of burgers, flatbreads and loaded fries, as well as some seriously good small and large plates. The kimchi fried chicken burger packs a punch, finished with tangy lime and coriander mayo. For a hearty pub food classic, the pie of the day comes with champ mash, veg and lashings of red wine gravy. Delicious.

Terms & Conditions

The free prize draw is open until 5pm on Friday 7th April 2023. There is one prize available. The prize is in three parts. 1) A VR experience at The Park Playground for the winner and up to five friends. The winner can select any of the games available. 2) One hour’s open bar at The Park Playground. The open bar includes beer, wine and soft drinks only. 3) A £150 voucher to spend at The Cardigan Arms. £150 to be used on food and drink, but must include one main meal per person. Advanced booking is necessary. Not available for use on Sundays. This free prize draw is open to UK residents with a valid UK postal address only. One winner will be randomly selected from the database of entrants who completed the prize draw online entry form. Employees and family of The Park Playground, The Cardigan Arms, Leeds Digital Magazines or any agencies connected with the set up of this prize draw are not eligible to enter. No cash alternative.
