The bus service in Leeds has undergone huge changes over the last few years. We’ve waved au revoir to the clunky old polluting buses and said bonjour to a bunch of ultra-low emission replacements. Hop on and you’ll find USB chargers handy for topping up your phone, free wifi and comfy leather seats. They’ve also got easier to use, thanks to their dedicated app.

If you’re our lucky winner, you’ll get your mitts on a FirstYear Adult Ticket, worth a whopping £818. That gets you a whole year’s travel all across our fair city and wherever a Leeds City bus roams. That’s 12 months of commuting, exploring the city and getting out and about as much as you want. The city is your oyster!

Sample North Brew Co. nectar at Springwell

North Brew Co. are Leeds legends, and you can see exactly how they do their thing if you win this competition. After opening North Bar in the 90s, the first real craft beer destination in the city, they’ve opened fine bars in numerous corners of the city and have now turned to brewing their own wondrous beer at Springwell.

Win this prize and you can rock up for a brewery tour that will see you tasting their core range – acclaimed beers such as Sputnik, Transmission, Piñata and Springwell Pils – right at the source. After a guided tour of Springwell, you and your three guests will get a tutored tasting. It’s a doddle on the bus, you’ll be there in 25 to 30 minutes on the 2 or 3A (Moortown Line), 7A or 7S (Meanwood Line) and 13A (Roundhay Line), with services every two or three minutes.

Take a tour of Kirkstall tap with a bar tab to boot

A fan of Kirkstall brews such as Virtuous and Three Swords? Want to see where Perpetuous is coaxed into life? The Kirkstall Brewery Tap & Kitchen has been packing in discerning drinkers since it opened back in 2020. It’s a shiny new building on Kirkstall Road that lures you in with fab beer, pizza specials and an array of doughy ‘scrolls’ that are the ideal beer snack.

If you’re our winner, you’ll bag a tour and tasting for five people at their Kirkstall Road Tap. Head brewer Rob will lead you around before you taste three seasonal beers. If you fancy some more, happy days – there’s a £50 bar tab for you to sup your way through as well. Just jump on the 33 or 34 bus (Kirkstall Line) – they run every 15 to 20 minutes and you’ll be there in around quarter of an hour.

Head to wonderful Wetherby and create your own beer

Wetherby Brewing Co. is just five years old, but they’ve already built up a serious reputation for making serious beers. There’s no bells, whistles or novelty flavours, just cracking ales like their bitter, porter, IPA and blonde. The taproom is open every Friday and Saturday, with six cask and four keg beers on draft – but how do you fancy the chance to add your own beer to the mix?

Win this competition and you can head to Wetherby to brew your very own beer. It’s a hands-on experience that makes up to 350 pints. You choose what to make and design the pump clip before your creation is actually sold in their taproom bar. It’s a prize worth £700, and an absolutely unforgettable day. How to get there? The X98 runs every 30 minutes from Leeds and will have you at their door in an hour.
