Eat Leeds Restaurant Week is back with a bang – and you can taste even more with this stellar prize.
We’ve missed the joys of Eat Leeds Restaurant Week over the last few years, but the good news is it’s returning to expand our waistlines from Monday 15th to Sunday 21st August this year. It’s an amazing opportunity for you, your mates and your family to dine out across a smorgasbord of cuisines and affordable budgets. The restaurants involved are creating special menus just for the event, priced at £5, £10, £15, £20 and £25. Booking is easy – head to the Eat Leeds website, check the list, download a voucher and book where you want to go. And to celebrate, we’ve got £100 tabs up for grabs at four of the participating restaurants. Yum.
Win £100 to spend on the bodacious burgers and filthy fries at Meat:Stack
If you haven’t tried Meat:Stack since it landed in Leeds city centre, here’s a tip – arrive hungry. Their smashed and steamed burgers are absolute perfection, and you can win a £100 voucher that will let you work your way through the menu. You can’t go wrong with the classic cheeseburger, but the irresistible Cease & Desist is a thing of wonder. Two patties are dressed with smoked streaky bacon, mascarpone, ancho chilli and black garlic honey. Fries come truffled or cooked in beef dripping, with curry butter sauce or blue cheese. Heck, they even do American-influenced breakfasts that will have you dumping your cereal boxes in a bin.
Tuck into succulent steaks and premium grub worth £100 at Blackhouse
Carnivores rejoice! Blackhouse is one of the Eat Leeds restaurants this year, and their steaks truly sizzle. Win this prize and you’ll have £100 to blow on their tender, aged meat – you can even see it being air-dried in the restaurant’s Himalayan rock salt chambers. Rump, sirloin, fillet, ribeye, T-bone, tomahawk, chateaubriand – take your pick. But that’s not all that’s on offer – they do elevated seafood dishes, lamb chops, slow-roasted pork belly and a next-level burger, all backed up with a wine list that reads almost as good as it tastes. If you’re able to leave room for dessert, good on you, as those are knockout too.
Feast on beyond bellissimo Italian food at Gusto to the tune of £100
Greek Street’s Gusto is a dream of an Italian restaurant made real – and you can try it for yourself. They do all the classics with aplomb, so sip on an aperitivo while you munch on the likes of bruschetta, antipasti and fettuccine ragu. Want to try something more creative? The honey-glazed duck is dressed with aged balsamic vinegar, while veggies and vegans will love the San Marzano tomato orzotto with crispy cavolo nero. Sourdough pizzas are exemplary, while your £100 will also get you their steak experience. Two of you can share a hefty 450g chateaubriand with copious sides and a bottle of joyous Italian wine.
Blow a £100 tab on tempura, tofu and more at the totally brilliant Mans Market
Mans Market isn’t your average Chinese restaurant. Ever since they opened they’ve done things a little differently, from decor to dishes. Yep, you can get your tried-and-tested sweet and sour chicken or chow mein, but they also have a Chinese tapas approach that you can order your way through with £100 to spend. The belly pork tempura bao is a modern marvel of texture and taste, while firecracker cauli wings will convert carnivores with their moreish combo of spring onion, toasted sesame and spicy sauce. From the mains, the Mongolian beef bowl and Szechuan aubergine with tofu are perfect for sharing – although you might end up fighting over the last morsel.
