Stir Krazy Kids
The school holidays are the perfect chance for the children to get creative with food thanks to Stir Krazy Kids. They host half-term cooking workshops for kids aged between 4 and 12. They’ll get to make yummy, nutritious food from different cuisines, as well as baking their own cakes. At the end of the day, they can take their tasty eats home with them, along with a bunch of new skills. Booking ahead is required and courses start at £38.
Stir Krazy Kids takes place at Gateways School, Harewood during every school holidays.
Bramley Baths Swimming Lessons
One of the most historic swimming pools in Leeds is also the perfect place for the little ones to become budding water babies. Bramley Baths run kids swimming lessons every day of the week, with after school sessions from Monday to Friday and morning sessions at the weekend. They use the Dolphin programme, awarding children aged 3 and a half upwards qualifications as they reach milestones along the way, with help of ASA-trained staff. Classes cost £5.50.

From the age of one, Pudsey-based Gymmagic have something to offer your little ones. They put on a range of gymnastic classes that are both fun and challenging, as the kids learn moves and techniques all while doing exercise and having fun at the same time. They have pre-school classes for one to four year olds and recreational classes for kids aged between five and nine, as well as boys only classes. Classes start from £5.

Razzmatazz Drama Classes
Whether the kids dream of the stage or are looking for a new hobby, Razzmatazz Theatre School is the place to go. Based in Meanwood at Carr Manor Community School, they run sessions every Saturday. The little ones will take part in drama, singing and dancing classes that are loads of fun. They also cover musical theatre and plenty of other styles if the kids want to try something in particular, as well as opportunities for public performances and workshops with West End professionals. Classes start from £169 per term.

The Leeds Music Hub
A space dedicated to music and run by local musicians, The Leeds Music Hub in Headingley is the perfect place to introduce your little ones to music. All their classes are run by people who work within the centre, and you can pick from loads of different instruments, from guitar to ukulele, violin, and double bass. No matter the age or skill-set, the kids can learn everything they need, with a choice of half hour sessions for £12 or full hour sessions for £24.
The Leeds Music Hub run classes from Wednesday to Saturday, but must be booked ahead and depend on what your instrument is.
Yorkshire Dance Saturday Superstars
When it comes to dance classes, there’s no better place to go than Yorkshire Dance. Their main class is Saturday Superstars, which takes place every week with a mix of different styles perfect for anyone under the age of 14. But, that’s not all. They also do Saturday Street Kids for kids aged between 11 and 14 – or there are a range of other classes, from Rhythm & Tap to Street Styles. Classes start from £4 per week.

The Yoga Space doesn’t just offer yoga classes for grown-ups, they also run a Kids Yoga class every Monday afternoon, specially for children aged 6 to 11. The sessions incorporate everything from yoga to storytelling, movement and drama games. That helps them learn things like co-ordination, balance and strength while having fun at the same time. They even have free snacks. Single sessions are £6.50 or £45 for 10.

Park Run Leeds
Got a budding young runner in the family? Let them join Park Run Leeds on their weekly outings every Sunday morning. You can choose which one to go on – 9am at Roundhay Park or 10am at Temple Newsam. Not only does it get the kids out of bed, it also gives them a chance to burn off energy and make new friends. It’s free to join.

Relax Kids offer an alternative to your usual kid-friendly classes. Instead of getting them moving, they focus on keeping the kids calm. Their weekly Monday and Wednesday classes follow seven steps to relaxation, bringing together games, stretches, breathing exercises, self-massage, affirmations and relaxation. The aim is to help the kids learn to how focus, as well as improving their creativity, listening skills, confidence and self-esteem. Each class costs £5.
Relax Kids takes place at Steinbeck Community Hall every Monday and Wednesday evening.
HEART Language Classes
Every Saturday is language day at Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre. There are two different options to choose from. Instituto Cervantes run two Spanish language classes, for 3 to 5 year olds and 6 to 10 year olds, which give them a basic foundation. Or if the kids want something a little more exotic and unusual, they can join Leeds Korean School for their weekly Korean classes, which is open to children of all ages. Classes start at £50 for five week blocks.
