Harewood House is already one of Leeds’ most romantic locations, thanks to a 32-acre tropical lake, swooping riverbanks and colourful gardens filled with everything from blue poppies to golden daffodils and shades of rhododendrons. Go Ape among the treetops at Temple Newsam

High above the trees in Temple Newsam, you can do something completely different. The Go Ape treetop adventure park has three levels of difficulty for you to master. It’s the perfect way to get your adrenaline going as you climb 15 metres into the trees to take on high-speed zip wires, free-fall Tarzan swings and narrow tightrope crossings, not to mention the 46-metre free fall known as The Plummet. You might not want to look down, but there are amazing views over Temple Newsam Park and Hope Farm to be enjoyed too.

Cat-loving couples will be in seventh heaven at the Kitty Cafe. You’ll lift off at sunrise or sunset from the ground of Temple Newsam, with a full pilot briefing and a chance to help inflate the balloon. Once you’re up in the air, snap a few photos with the incredible view in the background. You’ll be floating over Leeds for around an hour, so there’s plenty of time to relax and enjoy the experience. Once you’ve landed safely again, there’s even a traditional champagne toast.

Jackrabbits has an enormous selection of over 120 ready-to-paint pieces, from coasters to mugs, vases and even piggy banks. Just pick one each to paint or carve your own unique designs on while you enjoy a cup of tea and a homemade cake or two. Once you’re happy with your design, it’ll be glazed, fired and aired in the kiln for a few days, ready for you to pick up and enjoy a week later.
