The day will kick off with a live painting workshop with Nicky Cash from furniture makeover specialists Done Up North. It’ll show you exactly how to paint furniture and create unique textured effects. She’ll be demonstrating her techniques live and the finished piece will be unveiled at 1.45pm after the paint has dried.

Once Nicky’s finished, take the chance to explore the wide variety of local exhibitors dotted around the venue. If you’re a fan of reclaimed decor, specialists Almendra Furniture are sure to have plenty of pieces on display, with everything from beer barrel tables to bike wheel message boards. Meanwhile, TM Vintage Leeds and Ladybird Lane will be showing off a whole host of unusual reclaimed lighting that has to be seen to be believed.

Textiles will have a strong presence too from The Odd Bobbin and Sarah Parry Designs. There’ll be a wide range of handmade prints from Maveroose, while Wander Collective and Letters H and C mix art and eccentric home decor to delight the senses. Prefer ceramics? The Handmade Market has you covered there too, as Yellow Room Crafts will be bringing a selection of quirky ceramic coasters to choose from.

There’s are more talks in the afternoon, but before they get underway, grab a delicious feed from Belgrave’s two in-house street food stations, with Dough Boys’ Neapolitan-style pizza or Patty Smith’s selection of juicy burgers – or enjoy a cold drink on their sunny roof terrace. Once you’ve had your fill, settle in to hear from Elisa Fanella from Elisa Interiors. She’ll be talking about the latest design trends and how to use light for interior design, as well as the best ways to inject colour into your home.

If you’ve ever wanted to know how to cut through the clutter in your life, this short talk will be a lifesaver. And when Kate’s finished, Nicky Cash’s painted furniture will be unveiled.
