The much-anticipated #LDF2023 kicks off with three days of exciting events, providing a taste of what’s to come.
With September’s event looming in the distance, Leeds Digital Festival returns this April for a short but sweet programme of talks, panels and conferences. Now in its eighth year, the festival is one of the jewel’s in the city’s tech crown, providing inspiration, education and networking opportunities in abundance. Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming mini-fest.
Day one – healthcare innovation, real-world networking & live pitches

The three-day mini-fest kicks off with the Digital Health and Care Conference, taking place on Tuesday 25th April 2023 at Park Plaza. The all-day event offers an insightful look at how digital innovation is driving advancements in the industry, ultimately helping to improve the lives of patients on a local, regional and national scale. With plenty of learning and engagement opportunities, it’s set to be an unmissable event for those working in the healthcare sector.
Also on day one, you can join a special Nexus Connect event, giving you a chance to network with entrepreneurs, innovators and business leaders from across the region. There’ll also be a unique ‘reverse pitch’ event, hosted by YFM Equity Partners, where four investors pitch to a room of fundraising founders. Elsewhere, Leeds 2023 are hosting an inspirational talk, explaining how they worked with partners to create a digital legacy for the Year of Culture.
Day two – LegalTech, the future of women in the workforce and the power of AI

An exciting trinity of events on day two begins with the all-day LegalTech in Leeds 2023 Conference. Organised by Whitecap Consulting, it’s a thought-provoking coming together of legal minds, packed with keynotes and panel discussions along with inspiring local success stories. There will be loads of ways to get involved, too, with breakout sessions providing ample opportunity to bounce ideas off some of the region’s key figures.
Elsewhere, Accenture are hosting this year’s sold out Women in Tech Breakfast. Focusing on the future of women in the workforce, keynote speaker Sophie Williams will be sharing her experience of leadership and the glass cliff. In the evening, BJSS will dig deep into the fascinating world of AI, advising why it’s crucial to embrace it now in order to stay ahead and gain a competitive edge. Day three – sports content, day-to-day AI and a tech-centric dinner

There are four events to check out on Thursday 27th April 2023. Join Digital Sport North at Belgrave for an exploration of football’s relationship with the media. Presented by broadcaster Rich Williams, the 60-minute panel discussion will see senior representatives from Leeds Utd, BBC Sport, Sky Sports and other Premier League sides. With the rise of content creators challenging more traditional broadcasters, it’s bound to spark interesting conversation.

Join the oh-so-clever Parallax team for an eye-opening session to learn how you can apply AI in your day-to-day life. Nearby, a thought-provoking Web3 event led by digital transformation agency Calls9 explores the subject of customer loyalty and engagement, while the techUK Leeds Health and Social Care Industry Dinner brings the mini-fest to a close in fine style.
