Want to wow your other half? Try one of these marvellously romantic breaks in Yorkshire…
Leeds is fabulous, but even we get the urge to escape every now and then, so we’ve rounded up five of our favourite romantic breaks to help whisk your other half of their feet. From luxurious hotels in 18th century manors to meadow yurts in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, these are the ultimate Yorkshire escapes.
Stay in a luxurious manor house
If you’re out to impress your other half, Crab Manor Hotel is the obvious choice. The hotel itself is incredibly impressive, with seventeen rooms, each decorated in a fabulously different style. You can choose from bright airy garden rooms, Scandinavian pine cabins and traditional rooms in the 18th-century Georgian manor, filled with antiques.
Stay here, and you’ll be treated to free canapés in the lounge from 7pm-8pm, as well as access to their sauna and hot tub. But that’s not the only perk. The Crab & Lobster Restaurant is just as famous as the hotel, with a choice of gourmet dishes, ranging from locally-sourced seafood to English classics. A word of warning, this is an extremely popular escape, so you’ll have to book very early indeed – you need to start thinking about Valentine’s Day 2019 now.

Escape to a woodland hideaway
If you want to escape the city and lose yourself in the countryside for a few days, the North Star Club has to be high on your list of places to go. Nestled in 500 acres of woodlands in the Yorkshire Wolds, it’s a forest holiday with a difference, so your trusty tent will be replaced with one of eight uniquely decorated woodland suites, all kitted out with a small fridge, a hair dryer and a gas fired BBQ.
For the ultimate romantic break, go for the Star Suite. Not only is it beautifully decorated, with beams made of trees giving you a fabulous indoors-outdoors feeling, but it also has a rustic four-poster bed, a stunning copper bath and its very own private infra-red sauna. You can arrange for BBQ packs and hampers to be delivered to your accommodation, but why not try one of the local eateries? The Pipe and Glass promises Michelin Star quality, but even their local pub, The Star @ Sancton, is award-winning.

Wake up to the views that inspired Wuthering Heights
For something a little bit different, try Higher Scholes Cottage. It’s tucked away in the heart of the Yorkshire Moors, with stunning views of the countryside that once inspired the Brontë Sisters – what could be more romantic than that?
The cottage itself is exactly what you’d expect – rustic, but in the most stylish way, with a four-poster bed, a real log fire and a roll top bath. The best bit though, has to be the private hot tub, which means you can take in the views or sit out under the stars, even in the heart of winter. As luxurious as it is though, you’ll still want to go out and explore with a medley of walks on your doorstep.

Glamping in the countryside
Want to get back to nature, while staying in the lap of luxury? Then Swinton Bivouac is the perfect choice. You’ll find it in the Swinton Estate, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, where they have a mix of tree lodges and meadow yurts. It’s a fabulous escape from city life, in a beautifully rustic setting.
Expect eclectic furniture, wood-fired stoves and stunning views, with skylights in the tree lodges, so you can look out at the stars from the comfort of your bed. There’s no electricity here, but that’s all part of the fun – and when you’re not enjoying your accommodation, you can head out to explore with a range of activities and attractions nearby, including Druid’s Temple, a historical site and folly constructed during the late 1800s.

The Star Inn
Right on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, in a little village called Harome, lies The Star Inn – and it’s the perfect romantic retreat. Why? Because it’s the sister venue of the Michelin Starred restaurant, The Star, which lies just across the road. Are you thinking what we’re thinking – a meal like no other, followed by a luxurious night in the countryside? Too right.
The hotel has nine rooms, each unique and each done up to a very high standard. Take Room 1 for example, it has a cosy bath at the end of the bed, while Room 5 has its very own pool table and Room 8 boasts a vintage piano. Of course, you won’t be spending all your time in your room, because the countryside around the hotel is perfect for picturesque walks.
