Land Rover Experience

Get behind the wheel and put your off roading skills to the test at these challenging 4×4 experiences across Yorkshire.

Yorkshire is known for its dramatic terrain and one of the best ways to experience it is on an adrenaline-pumping 4×4 experience. This is your chance to amp up the throttle as you take on rocky crawls and hair-raisingly steep ascents. You can even muddy up your off roading vehicle by revving through boggy ruts and deep gorges. What are you waiting for? It’s time to let loose on the region’s rugged landscape.

Land Rover Experience

Land Rover Experience

You can discover the ins and outs of 4×4 driving from one of the world’s most established off roading companies when you head to the Land Rover Experience. Their Yorkshire base is at Yellison Farm near Skipton, so you can drive across swathes of open countryside. They do everything from an hour-long off road experience to a full-day trek where you can bring your own car. Your adventure will start with welcome refreshments and an overview of the vehicle technology, before you take on the sprawling tracks outside. You’ll then conquer bridge crossings, rocky crawls and plenty of deep water with the help of your instructor.

If you want a 4×4 driving experience along a coastal route, the North Yorkshire Off Road Centre near Robin Hood’s Bay is the perfect place. Set on a private hillside with a quarry, it’s full of water ruts, muddy tracks, and steep hills, but it’s nothing that their Land Rover Defenders can’t handle. You’re allowed up to three passengers in the car, so you can each have a turn behind the wheel with an expert instructor by your side. Want a challenge? They do full day experiences that will take you across rivers and tackle huge-scale rocky hills with rewarding views of the Yorkshire coastline.
