Go on a brewery tour at North Brewing Co.

If you’re tired of your local boozer but still want to enjoy a tipple with your other half, get down to North Brewing Co. every Saturday for one of their weekly brewery tours. From the Sputnik pale ale to the Transmission IPA, you’ can get the down-low on how all their most popular beers are brewed. To finish off, you’ll taste three third-pints of freshly brewed goodness, and all for just £10 each.

An evening under the stars, it can’t get more romantic than that. If you make your way over to The New Inn at Eccup, The Leeds Astronomical Society will help you get to grips with stargazing. The rural location makes this country pub the perfect place to get a clear view. You can peer through telescopes, ask any burning questions and even enjoy tasty pub grub beforehand.

Go on a bar crawl with a difference with The Gin Journey

The Gin Journey

The Gin Journey is a bar crawl like no other. You’ll get a gin master tour guide and a group chauffeur as you make your way through an eclectic mix of gins at an ever-changing line-up of Leeds venues. Your eyes will be opened, not just by the gin knowledge you’ll gain, but also by the new haunts you’ll discover on the way. In total, you’ll visit five different venues, sip five gin-based cocktails and sample five different types of gin, all for £53.30.

The Gin Journey Leeds takes place in Leeds city centre and the meeting point will be announced a week before. It takes place every Saturday.

Rack your brains at Puzzled Pint

Although Puzzled Pint has grown into a global community since its first event in the US, you’ve probably never heard of it. It’s a monthly gathering that brings groups of puzzlers under one roof at a local pub – it’s also completely free. The monthly Leeds edition takes place at The White Swan, where a crazy fusion of direction-less puzzles await. You can expect a new theme each time, from Friends to Pokemon.

Serf is a grassroots artistic hub where the city’s up and coming talent works. They’ve hosted a whole range of projects and exhibitions for the public to enjoy. You can catch anything from thought-provoking collections to sculptures and drawings – 21 artists are housed there, so there’s plenty of fresh material to fuel them, as well as exhibitions from external artists.

Have a go at chocolate making with Chocolate Collective

If you’re both chocaholics, you have to try out one of Chocolate Collective’s workshops. You’ll make your own deliciously rich homemade truffles. It’s a hands-on session that lasts about 2 hours. For £40 each, you’ll craft your own Belgian truffles from scratch while learning about the history of chocolate. And at the end, you can take home your beautifully packaged masterpieces.

Experience parkour and free jumping at Level Up

There’s plenty of space to learn a new skill with a beginner class at Level Up Academy’s 3,000 square foot Parkour Park. Join their adult workshops where complete newbies can work through a host of new moves. From latches to precision jumps, they have all the parkour basics covered. Classes start at £8 each, with monthly packages if you want to make it a regular thing.

Tackle ridiculously spicy wings at Mojo

This is no easy feat, something that’s all to clear from the fact that you have to wear latex gloves and sign a disclaimer. If you’re up for the challenge, get yourselves down to Mojo and put it to the test.

Learn to dive with Scuba Leeds

Scuba diving

This experience will give you a taste of what scuba diving is really like. After a classroom session, you’ll get kitted up in the full gear with a pre-dive briefing before you make a splash. The aim is to nail your breathing technique up to 1.8 metres below the water and you can even whack it up to 5.5 metres if you get the hang of it. At £30, this course will give you an insight into scuba diving before you sign up for the full shebang.

Combine crazy golf with cocktails at Junkyard

From a UV garage room to a freaky hall of mirrors, this isn’t your standard crazy golf course. Choose from three mashed-up 9-hole courses made out of reclaimed materials. They serve a whole host of cocktails embellished with jelly sweets that you can take with you around the course – not forgetting the fairground-style hot dogs. It’s the perfect chance scoff food and showcase your competitive sides.
