A pop-up opera with bubbly and an almighty feed – get your tickets before they’re gone.

On Friday 22nd September 2017, we’re giving you the perfect excuse to escape the office, because Opera North has teamed up with Manahatta to give you a lunch break with a difference. They’ve created a pop-up opera experience that will see their singers hidden amongst you as you sup a glass of prosecco and maybe even grab a bite to eat – you won’t know who they are until they start to sing, putting you at the heart of the action.

Turn your lunch break into a culture break with an opera pop-up & a glass of bubbly for just £5

This isn’t your usual opera. Created specially by Opera North, it’s a cool, modern production that we can all relate to – and don’t be surprised if you recognise the music. From Puccini to Mozart, it’s made up of some of the most famous songs ever written, alongside tunes from The Little Greats, their new season of short, sweet operas. Your £5 ticket gets you in, but it will also bag you a glass of Prosecco Stelle d’Italia.

Get all that and lunch to boot for £12.50

Bibimbap Salad Manahatta

The only thing better than opera and prosecco on your lunch break is opera, prosecco and a downright tasty lunch – so why not go for the upgrade? Manahatta will be serving up a special menu for the event, with seven delectable dishes for you to choose from.

They’ve got three breakfast classics, transformed into a lunchtime feast – that’s right, you can have a Full English, Mexican Baked Eggs or Smashed Avocado on Toast. Want something a little more lunch-esque? The Giant Buttermilk Pancakes come smothered in fried chicken, bacon and maple syrup, while the Tawainese Hirata Buns can be filled with either crispy Manahatta chicken or Peking mushroom.

Their Signature Liberty Burger is on there too, loaded with bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, house BBQ sauce and crispy onions – or you can go with the oh-so scrummy Korean Bibimbap Rice Salad. This bowl of steamed rice, sautéed carrots, mushrooms and spinach comes topped with a soft egg, a spiced tomato dressing and your choice of rump steak, chicken or veggie eats.
