Lifestyle magazine Hole & Corner has teamed up with Harewood House to curate a day of hands-on crafts in the grounds of Yorkshire’s finest Treasure House…
Make It Harewood is a new weekend-long festival that will bring together workshops, demos, DJs, street food and markets, all in one place. It’s set to takeover Harewood House from Saturday 6th to Sunday 7th July 2019 with a line-up that’s fit to bursting – they’ve crammed in 45 workshops across two jam-packed days, so you can try everything from paper art to blacksmithing, while the DJ soundtracks your day and the bar serves up a mix of gin, prosecco and craft beer.
Get ready for a fun-packed weekend of entertainment
Now, how would you like to go? One lucky winner will bag 4 tickets to the festival. It’ll get you in for the whole weekend, so don’t worry if you can’t squeeze it all into one day – after all, there’s loads to see and do. You can watch demonstrations, have a dabble yourself or jump in headfirst with one of their expert workshops.
In fact, you’ll get tickets to the headline event, a model-making workshop with the legendary Aardman Studio, the people behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. This is your chance to work under the expert tutorship of model-making extraordinaire Will Harding to make one of their famous characters. It’s hungry work, so we’re also giving you a £30 voucher to use in the Courtyard Cafe.
While you’re there, you can explore the house and gardens. Walkers will love roaming around the grounds, where you’ll find 100 acres of scenic vistas and hidden pathways. There’s an adventure playground for the kids, not to mention the bird garden, which is home to flamingos, penguins and more. Inside, the historic halls of Harewood House have been filled with artistic curiosities for Useful/Beautiful, an exhibition of modern craft.
