Huge, lifelike dinosaurs are taking over Leeds this summer and we’re giving you the perfect excuse to seek them out…
Are you ready for a big dino adventure? Round up the kids and head into Leeds City Centre from Saturday 27th July to Sunday 1st September 2019 because there are five life-sized dinosaurs to seek out. Brought to you by Leeds BID, this free family-friendly trail will take you all over the city as you hunt out five ginormous dinosaurs. Watch them move, see them roar and enjoy summer in the city with our fantastic competition…
See the triceratops and challenge the kids to a game of bowling
By the time the summer holidays arrive, The Merrion Centre will have its very own triceratops. When this massive beast lived 68 million years ago, it grew to 9 metres long and 3 metres high – ours is 7 metres long and just as impressive as the real thing. There are loads of shops and restaurants to keep you busy while you’re here, but if you’re our lucky winner, you’ll be making a beeline for Tenpin, because we’re giving away bowling and burgers for a family of 6.
Follow the trail, see the dinosaurs and enjoy a family meal at Giraffe
From The Merrion Centre, head down to Victoria Leeds where you’ll find an 11-metre long apatosaurus, then go on to Kirkgate Market to see the 88-metre long carnotaurus. They’ve got loads of activities lined up for you here, so why not stay awhile? You can make your own salt-dough fossil or try their dino-themed crafts.
Finally, walk over to Trinity Leeds to see the two most famous predators of the Jurassic world – the tyrannosaurus rex and the velociraptor. By now, you’ve probably worked up an appetite, so we’re giving our winner a family dinner at Giraffe worth £60. Feast on katsu curry and lamb tagine while the kids work their way through loaded plates of flatbread pizzas and hidden veggie pasta.
