This is your chance to enjoy a night of French food and bohemian romance…

La bohème is one of the most popular operas of all time. It’s a stone-cold classic, a tale of romance and tragedy set to Puccini’s epic score and we’re giving away tickets. That’s right, you can watch the drama unfold as poet Rodolfo falls for his pretty neighbour Mimì. On a cold winter’s night, their love ignites over a blown-out candle, but even then, in the first flights of passion, fate is conspiring against them.

Enjoy a glorious night of music at La bohème

Originally directed by Phyllida Lloyd, the woman behind Mamma Mia, The Iron Lady and Tina the Musical, La bohème will transport you to the bustling clubs and cafés of Paris in the early sixties. From the very first note, it will take you on a rollercoaster of emotion as you follow the ecstatic highs and heartbreaking lows of Mimì and Rodolfo’s love story.

Along the way, you’ll experience Puccini’s incredible score, played live by the Orchestra of Opera North, and hear a string of familiar tunes, including Musetta’s Waltz, Che gelida manina and Oh Dio! Mimì! Even better, you can do it all on us because we’re giving away two of the best seats in the house on opening night!

Feast on the very best French fare before the show

Brasserie Blanc

Where better to start your evening than Brasserie Blanc? Lauded as one of the best French restaurants in the city, it’s the perfect place to eat before the show. Our lucky winner will be treated to a delectable three-course dinner, so you have a real treat in store.

Kick things off with chicken liver parfait, perfectly paired with truffle butter, red onion marmalade and toasted brioche, or embrace a French speciality by trying the escargots (snails) with garlic butter and a fresh baguette. Afterwards, you can choose from a vast array of mains, including their famous boeuf bourguignon and their veggie-friendly harissa glazed aubergine, before you unravel the decadent layers of chocolate sponge, hazelnut cream and chocolate sauce in their classic feuillantine. Wash it all down with a bottle of house wine – red, white or pink, you decide.
