It’s official! Roomzzz will open their new York aparthotel on 31st December 2019, just in time for your New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Right in the heart of the city with views over the River Ouse, Roomzzz York is the perfect base for exploring – in fact, you can hot-foot it over to Clifford’s Tower, the Grand Opera House and York Dungeons in just 10 minutes. Inside, you’ll have your little home from home, where you can cook, relax and enjoy a glass of wine ahead of a night on the town. It’s almost too good to be true, especially if you win our latest competition, because we’re giving away a two-night stay with a lavish afternoon tea and a scrumptious chocolate experience.

If you’re our lucky winner, you’ll bag two nights at Roomzzz York. You’ll be staying in one of their Dezign Suites, so you could have your own private balcony, an incredible river view or even both. After a long day of exploring, you can whip up dinner in the fully-fitted kitchen and drift off to sleep on a 2,000 pocket sprung mattress. The next day, jump into their rainfall shower and head down to enjoy your complimentary grab ‘n’ go breakfast before the fun starts again.

You can get from Leeds to York in a jiffy with Northern! Their fastest train will get you there in just 30 minutes, giving you even more time to explore the city, and with up to three trains an hour, you can choose a time to suit. It is, of course, on us – we’re giving away two unlimited day travel passes for up to 4 people to get you to York and back, so sit back, relax and wait for the adventure to begin. It sure beats driving!

No trip to York would be complete without a visit to The National Railway Museum, but how about we sweeten the deal? If your name is pulled out of the hat, you can enjoy an extravagant afternoon tea for two at The Countess of York. Step into their beautifully restored rail carriage to enjoy a menu of quintessentially British treats, like pulled pork and apple brioche rolls, Earl Grey tea loaf cakes and blood orange possets. Scones are an obligatory and absolutely delicious addition.

Last but not least, we’re giving away two tickets to York Chocolate Story. While other cities built their wealth on wool, cotton and steel, York turned its hand to chocolate and you can go on a delicious journey into the city’s past with their downright delectable tours. As you weave your way through three floors of interactive exploration, you’ll discover the origins of chocolate, find out how it’s made and learn to taste it like a pro. Delicious!

Terms & Conditions

The free prize draw is open until 5pm on Friday 3rd January 2020. There is one prize available. The prize is split into four parts. 1) A 2-night stay in a Dezign Suite at Roomzzz Aparthotel York. The prize cannot be transferred to another hotel and must be 2 consecutive nights. Not valid on 31st December 2019. The prize must be booked within 30 days of the winner being announced and taken within 6 months of booking. Subject to availability. Chosen dates cannot be guaranteed. 2) Return travel train tickets to York from Leeds for up to 4 people on Northern Rail. The ticket entitles the bearer and up to three other persons complimentary unlimited train travel for the day on the date specified on the front of the pass. This can be chosen by the winner writing it on the day. All persons using this ticket must travel together for the entire journey. Valid on Northern services only. It is not transferable and issued subject to the National Rail Conditions of Travel. It must be produced on demand to any authorised person. Valid for one year from the date of issue. 3) A ticket for two people to tour the York Chocolate Story. Excludes the KitKat Chocolatory. Can be used any time Monday to Sunday. You don’t need to pre-book but it is advised to get your preferred tour time. The tickets are valid for one year from date of issue. Tickets can be used in the school holidays. 4) Afternoon tea for two people at The Countess of York at The National Railway Museum. You must book your table 24 hours in advance. Reservations can be made for 12pm, 2pm and 4pm. You need to inform them of any dietary requirements when booking. Voucher valid for one year from the date of issue. This free prize draw is open to UK residents with a valid UK postal address only. One winner will be randomly selected from the database of entrants who completed the prize draw online entry form. Prize does not include travel expenses. Employees and family of Roomzzz Limited, Leeds Digital Magazines or any agencies connected with the set up of this prize draw are not eligible to enter. No cash alternative. The winner will be contacted by email. The winner must confirm that they’re eligible and able to accept within 24 hours of the email being sent. If a winner does not contact us within this time period, we reserve the right to choose another winner at random from all other eligible entries. All entrants must be aged 18 years or over.
