If you’ve got little ones to entertain, the Royal Armouries is the place to go. This summer, they’ve pulled out all the stops to wow the kids with live combat demonstrations, theatrical adventures and a chance to get up-close to their incredible collection, but we’re giving you another reason to go.

They’re welcoming His Majesty King Charles II to the museum for a weekend of horse shows, dressage and racing for the King’s pleasure – and if you’re our lucky winner, you’ll be right there with him. We’re giving away 5 tickets to Cavalcade for a King, a 30-minute showcase of sport, spectacle and speed. It’s on every day over the bank holiday at 12pm and 3pm, so you’re sure to find a time to suit. While you’re there, you can explore the royal maze in the outdoor square, follow the special royal treasure trail and take the kids to the dress-up zone to transform into jesters, knights and maidens.

You can also enjoy a 2-course meal at their newly refurbished restaurant, The Master’s. It’s not what you’d expect, the options are surprisingly gourmet – you can snaffle a spiced lamb flatbread or a squash and lentil sausage roll. Want something a little more filling? The Master’s Burger promises two 3oz Yorkshire beef patties smothered in mature cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, slaw and relish, served with chips and onion rings.

There’s only one experience left – the crossbow range and you’ll get two sessions for all five of you! Tucked away upstairs, this awesome activity centre will take you back in time as you try your hand at firing a real-life crossbow to see who has the keenest eye and the steadiest hand. You’ll get eight bolts each, but before you shoot, their museum assistants will show you how the crossbows work and help you aim, then it’s time to find out who will be the next William Tell!

Before you go, stop by the gift shop to pick up your cuddly armoured elephant – a lasting reminder of a great day out.
