The Leeds tech scene goes from strength to strength – and these three events prove it.
Three major tech events set to land in Leeds during March are testament to the fact that the Leeds tech sector is one of the most exciting and fast-moving parts of the city’s industry. This trio of conferences will further cement the city’s role as a key player in areas such as AI, FinTech and LegalTech. Here’s what’s going on, what you need to know and why you need to attend…

This conference, an in-person and hybrid event, will provide a platform for the key movers and shakers. In addition to talks and addresses, there will be great networking opportunities and a welcome focus on diversity, inclusion and sustainability.

Great Northern AI Summit
A two-day hybrid event, AI Tech North 2022 is one of the highlights of the calendar for AI practitioners, businesses, employees and investors. The roots of Artificial Intelligence are spread throughout the Leeds business community, with it being used and perfected by companies working in areas as diverse as mental health, veterinary care and digital marketing. The summit will draw on the electric, eclectic nature of the AI community in the region, looking at how it can drive empowerment.
Over both days, there will be keynote speeches and panel sessions, physical and virtual networking, and a brilliant range of speakers including MPs, CEOs, Professors, Senior Engineers, Directors and Data Scientists. Fascinated by Machine Learning? Want to hear inspiring stories about women in tech? Need to know how AI can impact EdTech, FinTech and more? There are sessions for all of the above, including a vital panel on diversity and inclusivity in AI.

LegalTech in Leeds Conference
Technology has been driving change in the legal industry – and nowhere more so than Leeds. The huge size of our legal and tech sectors means they’re intersecting and innovating constantly. LegalTech in Leeds showcases the work they’re doing and looks at what’s next for this exciting and entrepreneurial area. It’s a chance for the legal and digital sides of the city to meet, collaborate, share ideas and plan an even brighter future.
There will be 35-40 speakers at the event, with keynotes such as Jenifer Swallow, Lawtech UK Director and Ben Wagenaar, Head of Technology and Innovation at Solicitors Regulation Authority. Panel discussions will toss around the current hot potatoes, with plenty of breaks for that all-important networking. Interestingly, there will also be a ‘reverse pitch’ sessions where tech entrepreneurs and legal service providers will pitch for 5-8 minutes each on issues they face and potential tech solutions.
LegalTech in Leeds takes over West Gate on Thursday 24th March 2022. You can register for online sessions, free tickets depending on eligibility or buy tickets for the physical event online.
