The biggest partner tech event in the UK returns to Wakefield this June and you can sign up for free.

Now in its fourth year, pt19 is a cutting-edge event designed to make technology interesting again. For one day only, you can see the biggest and most innovative tech companies on the planet, all under one roof. But that’s not all. You can also hear from a string of world-class speakers, with live Q&As, interactive demonstrations and a massive after party. The best bit? It’s totally free. So, are you free on Friday 14th June 2019?

pt19 is the brainchild of the pure technology group, a leading provider of ICT services and solutions based in the North. They’re disruptive by nature, so when they noticed the lack of innovation in the event space, they decided to take action. The result? A groundbreaking event that taps into their vast pool of technology partners, as well as inviting world leading brands like DJI and Tesla to showcase upcoming tech.

Their first event in 2016 attracted 98 delegates and 11 partners, but it’s grown exponentially since then. By 2018, they had 700 delegates and 28 partners, covering everything from artificial intelligence to virtual reality and cyber security. This year will be no different, in fact, they’ve already secured a string of world-class technology brands, including Dell Technologies, Microsoft and Intel.

So what can you expect from pt19? The event breaks down into three parts – a technology showcase, a series of TED-style talks and an almighty after party. It’s all free, from the massive street food spread at lunch to the drinks at the after party, and you’ll have a chance to see the new tech that will shape the future of business.

They hold the event at their Wakefield office, a Grade II-listed manor surrounded by 5.5 acres of countryside. It’s a wonderful juxtaposition of nature and technology, as 40+ global leaders come together in a huge 1,000 square foot tent on the grounds. They each have their own stand, so you can see what’s happening in the technology sector now and find out what’s coming up in the future.

Artificial intelligence is the biggest buzzword right now, and it’s the glue that ties the pure technology group’s partners together, so pt19 will have a major focus on AI. But that’s just the beginning. You can see commercial drones in action, check out the meeting rooms of the future and explore the possibilities of the Internet of Things – they even have a big showcase from HYPERVSN, with a whole wall of holograms that will bring graphics and animations to life before your eyes. And yes, they’ve got robots too!

“You’ll get to experience technologies you probably didn’t even know existed, technologies that are available now and technologies that are going to change the way you work, not just in the short term, but in the long term too,” James Blackburn, Group Marketing Manager at the pure technology group, told us.

Alongside the main tent, there’s a second where they’ll hold the talks. It may not be as big as its sister, but it’s by no means small – there’s space for up to 600 people inside and they’ve gone all out with the production to give you a TV-quality show. It kicks off at 10am with a quick keynote speech from Blackburn – he’ll update you on the latest innovations and launches at the pure technology group, before talking you through the day itself and what you can expect.

Next up is Rory Cellan-Jones, the Lead Technology Correspondent at the BBC. He’s dedicated the last 20 years of his life to knowing what’s new and what’s next in the tech industry, so there’s no one better to update you on the sector and let you in on the role AI has to play in its future. After a short break, Michael Rae will pick up the mantle. He’s Channel Director UK & Ireland of Huawei – you’ve probably seen them in the press lately, so this is your chance to get the real story, but he’s really here to talk about innovation.

Lunch is followed by another legend of the tech scene, as Rob Tomlin, VP of Business for Dell, introduces you to the new technologies that are set to transform your business in the future. Then there’s a break for networking before Grant Thomas, Growth Partner Sales Manager for HP UK & Ireland, takes to the stage to introduce you to the office of the future and the role that AI has to play in it. His 10-minute presentation will be followed by a live Q&A with Gadget Show presenter Ortis Deley – this is your chance to get involved, ask those burning questions and push the conversation in the direction you want it to go in.

Finally, former Olympian Roger Black MBE will close out the event with a motivational talk about teamwork, inspired by his storied past with the GB team. That only leaves time for the prize presentations, with laptops, drones and even 3D printers up for grabs throughout the day, before they clear out the space, so you can come back in at 7pm for the after party, a big old knees up to celebrate a day of innovation with like-minded people.

pt19 is the biggest event of its kind, not just in the North, but in the whole of the UK. And while it may be organised by the pure technology group, it’s not a pitch – the focus is on innovation, it’s about what we’re doing now, what we’re going to be doing in the future and what you need to consider in your overall IT strategy. So if you want to stay ahead in a competitive market, you need to be at pt19.

pt19 takes place at Chapelthorpe Hall in Wakefield on 14th June 2019. Sign up now, it’s free.
