Valentine’s Day is almost upon us! Time to treat yourself and your other half to a much-deserved night out with dinner for two, and a tasty one at that. But where should you go? Gusto’s Valentine’s sharer will have you drooling over more than your date. It’s £100 for two and that gets you three courses of ‘no, you have the last olive’ dining. It begins, as you’d expect, with an antipasti board. Smoked speck, prosciutto, burrata, goat’s cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and grilled courgettes are paired with fresh focaccia. Make eyes at each other over your epic feast, before ploughing into a Chateaubriand with creamy truffle mash, tender-stem and green beans. The Biscoff and chocolate dough petals complete the set. Available on 14th February 2023.

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a trip to Kendells? It’s one of the most romantic restaurants in Leeds, a candle-lit hideaway where you can gaze into each other’s eyes over a beetroot tarte or a bowl of French onion soup. There’s a special set menu for Valentine’s, so you can indulge in a 3-course dinner with a glass of champagne and an amuse bouche on arrival for just £69 per person. From a fillet of boeuf wellington for two to tarte de Provence, there’s a lot to love about this menu, which is available for one night only on 14th February 2023.

Nestled at the top of Trinity Leeds, with vast floor-to-ceiling windows that look out across the rooftops, Crafthouse is a great shout for Valentine’s Day in Leeds. Head Chef Simon Hewitt has created a special tasting menu for loved up diners – it costs £50 per person and offers six courses of exquisite food, carefully crafted to look as good as it tastes. Standouts include a Lindisfarne oyster to start with finger lime and ponzu dressing, followed by braised ox cheek with a pastrami tartiflette and stock pot carrots. Available only on 14th February 2023.

For some, there’s nothing more romantic than all-you-can-eat meat, and if your love is one of those people, Fazenda will be only too happy to oblige. Their Valentine’s menu promises fizz on arrival, unlimited helpings of everything from picanha to porco doce, and quartet of Brazilian sweet treats to finish. It’s available from Monday 13th to Wednesday 15th February 2023 and costs £39.90 at lunch or £55.90 at dinner – the latter adds seven cuts of meat to the menu, including filé-mignon, bife ancho, and for the particularly adventurous, coração de frango (chicken hearts).

Grand Pacific is doing Valentine’s Day high tea in Leeds. It’s £25.95 per person, but you can add a glass of bubbly for £9 or a cocktail for £6.05. Tea itself is an extravagant affair. Savouries include prawn cocktail vol au vents, coronation chicken sandwiches and a goat’s cheese & hibiscus tart, to name but a few. But it’s the sweet treats that will win your date over. Passion fruit brûlée rubs shoulders with a fruit scone, lemon tart and boozy trifle on a plate that’s packed to bursting. And of course, you’ll have traditional tea bread too. Available from 6th to 19th February 2022.

Following four sold-out events The Cheesy Living Co are welcoming back No Fixed Abode’s John Granaghan to their Leeds Corn Exchange home for a special Valentine’s Day event on 14th February 2023. This will be an intimate pop-up dining experience with a 7-course tasting menu inspired by Parisian cuisine for £60 per person. The menu promises a medley of delicious dishes, from the brioche French toast with venison tartare to the plaice and wild prawn roulade and côté de beouf. On the night, you’ll even have the option to add a wine flight from Latitude Wines, hand-picked to complement each dish.

Sky Lounge never usually serve food in the evenings – but their brunch and afternoon tea focus is shifting for one night only on Valentine’s Day. They’re promising sharing platters, so you can enjoy a medley of mouthwatering morsels together. Carnivores can jump from satay chicken skewers to lamb kofta bites and char sui pork belly, while fish lovers will snaffle Thai fish cakes, salt & pepper squid rings and tempura prawns. Going meat-free? There’s mushroom arancini alongside beetroot falafel and brie and potato bonbons. All platters cost £24.95 per person, including a special Valentine’s Cocktail.

Whether it’s Valentine’s Day or not, Ox Club is a surefire bet when it comes to date night in Leeds, but they’re going all out on 14th February 2023. They’ve put together a four-course set menu that’s full of their grill-based genius for £55 per person. It kicks off with osier and pickled ginger (a £3 supplement for edible bivalve lovers), followed by hot smoked chalk stream trout and a grilled mistake mushroom in a truffle broth. Mains are to share, offering lovebirds a 1-kilogram Highland wing of rib beef or a truffle and pecorino cheese pie. To finish, enjoy a pina colada with a chocolate, cherry and tonka bean medley.

The Lock, the bar you can find on the ground floor of DoubleTree by Hilton, is doing something especially simple for Valentine’s Day in Leeds. They have a three-course menu designed for two to share, with one starter, one main and one dessert with a cocktail to boot for £86.85. The baked garlic and rosemary camembert is the perfect way to kick things off, followed by a 18oz sirloin steak with all the trimmings and a chocolate fondue with waffle pieces, fruit, marshmallows and honeycomb. Round it off with their Sweet Candy Kiss cocktail, and Valentine’s Day is sorted.

This one’s a little different. Instead of Valentine’s Day, you can celebrate Palentine’s Day at Flight Club with their special brunch social on 11th February for £35 per person and 12th February 2023 for £30 per person. Love is still in the air, you can just share it with your pals instead of a significant other as you enjoy a Chambord cocktail on arrival, followed by two hours of bottomless pizza, a bottle of Prosecco per guest and an hour of social darts at their special, digitalised oche. Teetotal? You can swap the Prosecco for delicious mocktails.

You can enjoy a taste of Asian refinement by taking your Valentine’s Day in Leeds up a notch at Issho. They’re putting together a special one-night-only menu for 14th February 2023 which starts with edamame, miso and salt, followed by a sharing-friendly sushi platter. Next up, take your pick from chicken sweetcorn gyoza and cauliflower chilli karaage. There’s even more choice for your main, whether you go for the yakinuku rib eye steak or dabble in the sea bream teriyaki with baby gem. Finish with a raspberry chocolate ganache with miso caramel ice cream, all for £70 per person.
