New Year’s Eve in Leeds has been more subdued in the past few years, so you’re all due a big one. Whether you fancy a tasting menu at one of the best restaurants in town, want to paint the town red or have the urge for a dance marathon at a classic club night, the city will not disappoint this year. A mere £10 gets you through the door for Brudenell Social Club’s New Year’s Eve Party! Party! event. This is always a hugely popular sell-out event, so bag your tickets early for a night of party music both classic and cheesy – and sometimes both. The party will be fuelled with craft beer and crisps, while on-stage you’ll see established local bands performing incredible tribute sets. Ever wanted to see Pulled Apart by Horses performing Metallica covers while dressed as the band? Of course you have! Games, DJs – what other party do you need in your life as 2022 comes to an end?

It’s the biggest party of the year and Revolution are ready to go. They’ve got both a bottomless brunch menu to kick off your day and a huge shindig planned for New Year’s Eve. The epic festive brunch runs all day and costs £30 – you can look forward to everything from avo on toast to the turkey and stuffing burger, alongside a host of bottomless cocktails. If you just want to dance and drink, the party kicks off at 9pm with DJs playing body-moving house, pop, soul and hip-hop classics until 3am. Tickets start from £10.

Embrace 2023 in style at Angelica this year as they host Angie’s Disco. Zoom up to Level 6 and get ready for a night of disco and funky house from Angel Lee and co. The evening commences at 8pm and you can strut your stuff until 2am as a stellar line-up of DJs soundtrack the party. You’ll need to move fast – all the early bird tickets have gone, so get a shake on if you want to enjoy not just music but also classic cocktails. Want an early NYE celebration in Leeds? New Year’s Eve is rarely the cheapest night out, so ears prick up when someone says the word ‘unlimited’. At the swanky Malmaison, £109 gets you a NYE party that rocks from 7.30pm until 1am and includes all-you-can-eat from the buffet, as well as inclusive drinks from beginning to end – we’re talking beers, wine and selected spirits and mixers. Oh, and a glass of fizz when you get there. There’ll be a DJ to get the party going, while the non-dancing wallflowers among you can put the chefs through their paces with a few visits to the buffet.

Get your gladrags on for Bibi’s Masquerade Gala Dinner & Party – come masked and be prepared to eat, drink, party and dance. There’s a matinee sitting for early diners from 12.30pm for £65 per person, but the main event kicks off at 7.30pm until the clock ticks over into 2023. You can get a seat in the cocktail bar for £80 or in view of the stage for £125 – wherever you sit, you’ll get a glass of Prosecco on arrival with canapés, followed by a five-course dinner and live entertainment from house favourites, The Mini Big Band.

There are two ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Tailors in Grand Arcade. The first runs from 4pm to 6pm, it’s a Prohibition-era party, complete with live music and bottomless drinks for 90 minutes with access to their props and costumes – all for £30 each. The second takes you from 8.30pm into 2023 and it promises more of the same but with more art deco-era decadence – think Peaky Blinders meets The Great Gatsby, and yes, with those all-important bottomless drinks thrown in to boot.

The Wardrobe does one of the best New Year’s Eve dos in Leeds, so get ready to eat, drink and be merry. It’s free entry and you can join the party from 10.30pm – get there early if you want to get in because capacity is strictly limited. To guarantee entry, grab a ticket for the dinner and/or comedy. It costs £60.50, but means you can get in there from 5pm, enjoy a three-course meal and catch the show at 8pm – Stephen Bailey is headlining. You can also get dinner and NYE celebrations for £38.50, or comedy and the party for £27.50.

The Old Woollen

Want to bring in 2023 with a night of dance classics? Head to The Old Woollen. They’re hosting OW! NYE and it promises to bring the sounds and vibes of 80s house and acid music to Leeds for New Year’s Eve. It kicks off at 7pm when Matty Walton will get you up on the dance floor with classic anthems, before Gavin Lampitt takes over for a 90-minute set. You have two headliners to look forward to – K-Klass will bring out hits like ‘Rhythm Is a Mystery’ before the legendary Graeme Park takes you through to 2am. Tickets cost £35.

After a colourful Cuban Christmas, it’s time for a New Year’s Eve Fiesta in the heart of Leeds at Revolución de Cuba. The Latin vibe will be strong, with party music and those oh-so-addictive rum cocktails. DJ Indy starts the music from 12pm, but the party really gets going from 7pm when the Guacamaya live band kick off. A £10 early-bird ticket gets you a queue jump and an introductory drink. As well as live music, DJs Gaby Cooke and Jermaine are spinning tunes until 3am, as samba dancers and stilt performers roam the venue.

You’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve in Leeds, so how about going all out for a gala dinner? The Queens is hosting a special evening that’s the perfect excuse to get scrubbed up. It takes place in their fabulous ballroom, where you’ll enjoy canapés before you feast on a five-course dinner for £110 each. There will be duck rillettes wrapped in parma ham, followed by 28-day aged beef or wild mushroom and garlic risotto. Then it’s white chocolate tart or a cheeseboard. The resident DJ, jazz band and piper will all be on hand to welcome in 2023.

Thor’s Tipi will be back in its prime Leeds spot at Victoria Gardens this year, and they’ve got a big New Year’s Eve ding-dong lined up for the end of the year. The great news? It’s free to enter, although you might want to reserve yourself a table if you’re going mob-handed. Once there, you can see off the winter chills with mulled wine, hot cocoa and cider or wave goodbye to 2022 with beer and Prosecco. And don’t worry about the chills from outside the tipi, get down early enough to bag that prime spot around the fire pit under the twinkling lights.

Issho, private dining space

Dining at one of the most glam restaurants in Leeds sounds like a good way to spend New Year’s Eve. Dress to impress for Issho, where elevated Japanese food will be soundtracked by a live band for £90 a head. Kick off with edamame with chilli garlic furikake and a nine-piece sashimi moriawase. Things turn up a notch with the miso duck, spicy chicken karaage and the hojicha octopus salad. There’s more joy with the marinated lamb cutlets and the miso black cod – that’s all before you get to the fabulous yakinuku beef fillet.

Massive and oh-so-loud raves are the order of the day at Mint Warehouse and their New Year’s Eve celebrations will be no different. Baseline is the name of the game as Leeds legend Danny Bond and a host of other DJs fill the three rooms with pounding sounds for their annual party. You can hear 1998-2004 classics in the Loft, while Old School Fiesta take over the Boiler Room. In the Main Arena, Bond will be joined by a host of special guests, with a series of surprise live performances scheduled too. Tickets start at £24.70

Warm up for the midnight festivities with some cracking comedy at The HiFi Club. Doors open at 6.30pm so you can get a few drinks in before the first comedian comes onstage at 7.30pm. Stephen Bailey is headlining, the Celebs on the Farm presenter bringing a brilliant set of hilarious stories. Support comes from Scott Bennett, Allyson June Smith and Hayley Ellis. This night of laughs sells out every new year so grab your tickets pronto! It finishes by 10pm, so you have the chance to bring in the New Year elsewhere in Leeds.

Head underground at The Domino Club for one of the coolest New Year’s Eve parties in Leeds. Entry – which is £70 – gets you a complimentary cocktail on arrival and champagne at midnight, and they don’t mess about with the drinks at Domino. Live music comes from The Dija Bhlue Band and Back Chat Brass. Everyone who attends will get an exclusive 2022 domino, which grants free entry for the following year, as well as a welcome Martini on arrival every time. Slide into a booth or head to the dance floor – a good time is guaranteed.

Want to get your New Year’s Eve off to a flyer in Leeds? Book in for an almighty day of gaming and gorging at Electric Shuffle! From 12pm until 7pm, you can make the most of their epic shuffleboard table with your pals, playing on four different interactive games with the scores totted up for you so you don’t have to worry while you enjoy a few drinks. For £35 a head, as well as an hour of gaming, you’ll get to cheers the champion with a bottle of Prosecco for each person and bottomless pizza until your session ends.

If you want a little extravagance on New Year’s Eve in Leeds, head to The Ivy from 6pm. They’ve put together a very special menu of exquisite food to see in 2023 in style. A glass of Champagne will be handed to you on arrival, before you choose from starters like duck liver parfait and salt and pepper squid. Mains cover everything from aromatic duck curry to roast salmon fillet with your choice of side, before you end with desserts like creme brûlée, but not before you share a selection of exemplary cheeses, chutneys and crackers.

Go early or go late at Neighbourhood this New Year’s Eve in Leeds. Soak up the party vibe while enjoying a four-course meal from 6pm to 10pm for £70 each. You’ll get a cocktail on arrival before a series of sharing plates arrive. Make sure you don’t miss out on your share of the soft-shell crab, padron peppers or mushroom bao before the main event – giant tiger prawns and beef fillet. There are vegan alternatives all the way. From 10pm on, you can get standing venue tickets to see in the new year for £10 with DJs and entertainment, but if you want to go all out, you can book a booth with one of their drinks packages.

Tattu have got your New Year’s Eve covered even if you’ve already got nighttime plans. Their brunch menu, at £45 per person, comes in four ‘waves’ and includes modern classics such as shishito peppers and wok fried angry bird, with a cherry blossom dessert. Fancy the evening menu? It’s £145 each with 1/4 bottle of Champagne and includes treats like red belly pork, Shanghai black cod and XO fried rice. Push the boat out with a £25 supplement for the meltingly tender Wagyu ribeye. There’ll be a DJ, plus a petal drop at midnight.

For a New Year’s Eve in Leeds with a difference, how about throwing arrows as time’s arrow takes you into 2023? Flight Club will be hosting its Brunch Social from 12pm to 7pm to get you in the party spirit. You don’t have to even lift a dart – £25 gets you Prosecco and bottomless pizza while a DJ spins. Of course, you can also book tickets with an hour of social darts for £10 more. In the evening, you can book darts for 6 or more to see in the new year with music and their normal menu – giant pizza paddles and delicious drinks all the way.

After an amuse bouche, you can pick from a starters menu that includes oak-smoked Scottish salmon and potato & goats cheese terrine. Mouthwatering mains include Yorkshire beef and winter veg and brie pudding. After dessert, dance to the sounds of acclaimed Darren Clynes and raise a glass to 2023.

That means no endless taxi wait at the end of New Year’s Eve, all from £189 each. The party runs across two rooms. There’s a DJ and disco in the Pub & Grill or live entertainment in the Inspiration Suite – expect a soul tribute band. Whichever party you choose, you’ll get fizz to toast your arrival, and a three-course meal – dine on the likes of pressed duck and fig terrine, beef wellington and pine nut and basil-baked cod.

For £20 you get a ticket that gets you through the door and your first drink and shot of the night. There’s much more to Revolution than vodka, so work your way through an eclectic cocktail menu, followed by seeing in the new year with shots – the Mr Whippy is a must. Wanna go VIP? Why not celebrate the end of 2022 at New Dock Hall this year? After your red carpet arrival and welcome drink, you can make the most of their happy hour from 6pm to 7pm – but pace yourselves because there’s a late bar until 2am. The three course menu comes with choices like smoked salmon parfait, beef sirloin and a dark chocolate sphere. You can dance that off with a trio of legendary tribute acts, then see in the new year with DJs and a rendition of Auld Lang Syne. The whole kit and caboodle comes in at £69.95.
