Whether you’re visiting for a Christmas event or a full on festive stay, you’ll be treated like royalty at The Bridge.
Picture the scene. You’re tucking into a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, surrounded by all your favourite people in a charming Yorkshire setting. The Bucks Fizz is flowing and there’s no need to drive home afterwards. Sounds ideal, right? You can experience all this and more this Christmas at The Bridge Hotel & Spa.
You can enjoy a proper festive feast
Let’s start with the best thing about Christmas – the food. The Bridge are known far and wide for their epic carvery dinners, and you can try them for yourself at a festive event.
You’ll dig into the likes of roast turkey and stuffing, roast beef with horseradish crust and roast belly pork, served with flavour-packed roasties and veg. It’s an absolute delight, and even more so at Christmas time.
You can help solve a murder
There’s been a murder! Time to release your inner Sherlock and help piece together the clues. Visit on Friday 13th or Saturday 21st December 2024 and you can solve the mystery, enjoy the party night menu, then dance ‘til 1am.
There’s a very special New Year’s Day mystery too, this time with a twist! You’ve come to The Bridge to watch a tribute act of a well-known comedian – but will you die laughing? A three-course meal is the perfect reward for budding sleuths.
You can stay the night
Whether you’re visiting for a festive lunch or a sparkling party night, adding an overnight stay means you don’t have to worry about the journey home. Warm, historic and friendly, it’s the perfect setting for a Yorkshire sleepover.
Rooms come three ways – standard, club and suite – with the latter enjoying extra space, a jacuzzi bath and a tray of treats on arrival. Whichever you go for, you’re guaranteed a great night’s sleep in an ultra-cosy bed.
You can enjoy a lovely afternoon tea
If you love nothing more than a spot of tea and cake, the festive afternoon tea is a must. You’ll take to the historic Byron Bar, cosying up and enjoying The Bridge’s inimitable service while you munch on seasonal treats.
Sandwiches come stuffed with turkey and cranberry, ham and mustard, salmon and crème fraîche and more, with homemade desserts, scones and mince pies for afters. Pair it with a pamper day at the spa for the ultimate indulgence.
You can try all the puddings
If that’s not sweet enough, how about the Christmas Pudding Club? You’ll join The Bridge’s resident Pudding Master for an evening of entertainment, digging into a light main course before the main event begins.
You’ll eat your way through a parade of seven traditional puddings, scoffing everything from sherry trifle to syrup sponge. After tasting them all you’ll vote for your favourite, getting a certificate for your well-refined palate. You’ve earned it.
You can relax in the spa
The Bridge’s Courtyard Spa is a real hidden gem. Put on your robe and slippers and enjoy an afternoon of relaxation, basking in the Nordic barrel sauna, awakening your senses in the steam room and soothing those party feet in the Japanese foot spa.
And there’s nothing like a dip in the outdoor hot tub when the air outside is crisp – bonus points if it snows! An extensive list of treatments spans from hot stone massage to traditional mud rasul. Bliss.
You can spend your Sunday with Santa
The Bridge isn’t doing things by halves this year. They’ve only gone and lined up the actual Father Christmas for a series of Santa Sundays in December. Book in with the family and you can pull crackers with the big man himself.
On the 8th, 15th and 22nd December, Santa Sundays include lunch, festive carols, face painting and a table magician to keep the little ones entertained. Best of all, they get a letter and gift from Father Christmas. Throw in a photo with the bearded legend and you’ve got the perfect family day out.
You can explore Yorkshire
Nestled in the Dales, The Bridge is the ultimate gateway to Yorkshire, putting you within touching distance of charming destinations like Harrogate, Boston Spa and Knaresborough.
Why not go for a winter wander around Brimham Rocks? How about a trip out to York – a city that truly comes alive during the festive season? Further afield, Whitby promises dramatic coastlines and olde worlde inns.
You can ring in the New Year
New Year’s is cause for celebration, so why not see in 2025 in style with a night at The Bridge? Share a Yorkshire-themed buffet feast with friends and family, then party on well past midnight.
If you’d prefer a sit-down meal, the black and white gala is the perfect fit. Dress to impress for a night of feasting and revelry, tucking into a 7-course gourmet dinner before dancing to the resident DJ until the wee hours.
You can go all out
There’s even a New Year’s residential, giving you the chance to join The Bridge for up to four days of festive fun. There’s plenty to do during your stay – why not treat yourself to a spa session, or visit nearby Knaresborough for a winter walk?
On New Year’s Eve it’s time for a Champagne cocktail and canapés followed by a 7-course dinner, helping you see in 2025 in style. The next morning, a huge Yorkshire breakfast will soothe any sore heads, and by night you’ll turn sleuth at the murder mystery event!
