Wondering how you’ll keep the kids entertained during the school holidays? Fear not, because there are loads of family activities in Leeds this half term.
The February half term is nearly here, and there are oodles of fun events and activities in Leeds that will help keep the little ones busy during the school holidays. From interactive workshops to theatre shows, comedy and art classes, there’s stacks to do. So what are you waiting for? Start planning your half term adventures, stat!

Stirring Up The Past. You can give the little ones a glimpse into the past on this fun storytelling walk around Leeds. Designed for kids aged 9 and above, Blah Blah Blah Theatre Company have designed a route through the city, soundtracked by some amazing local people from history. And it’s free!
Leeds Valentine’s Fair. Spreading from Millennium Square down to Victoria Gardens, the Leeds Valentine’s Fair promises a load of family fun from Friday 10th to Sunday 19th February 2023. It’s free entry and you can enjoy rides like The Devil Rock and The Superstar, alongside the Leeds Wheel of Light.
Pirate Bonnie. She’s looking for treasure – but not ordinary treasure. That’s because the swashbuckling Pirate Bonnie is no ordinary pirate, as you’ll find out at The Carriageworks on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th February 2023. Fidget Theatre present a warm, witty and musical show on the Good Ship Adventure.

Ugly Duckling. One of the best half term activities in Leeds could be introducing your little ones to the world of ballet. Northern Ballet’s Ugly Duckling is a wonderful retelling brings together ballet, music and theatre at The Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre from Saturday 11th to Wednesday 15th February 2023.
Lotherton Love Birds Week. Wildlife World at Lotherton Hall is the place to be this half-term with loads going on for all ages. Visit between Saturday 11th and Sunday 19th February 2023 and go on the family trail to watch penguins playing in their pool, emus nodding around and flamingos balancing like only they can.
February Family Adventures. From Saturday 11th to Sunday 19th February 2023 (bar Mondays), Leeds City Museum is hosting all kinds of family fun. You can go on a Treasure Hunt Trail all week long, as well as crafting on a giant map of Leeds, which takes place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday lunchtimes.

Kirkstall Birds Week. It’s all about the birds at Kirkstall Abbey during half term in Leeds. From Saturday 11th to Sunday 19th February 2023, you can hunt around the ruins for feathered friends and see if you can spot the hidden British birds. On Tuesday 14th, you can even handle some with Wise Owl Rescue.
Treasures of Temple Newsam. There are many incredible treasures to find on this magic half term trail around Leeds’ legendary Temple Newsam, from Saturday 11th to Sunday 19th February 2023. This is your chance to discover their special collections, from rare breed animals on the farm to the house’s magnificent artefacts.
Half Term at Harewood. It’s always one of the best places to go during half term in Leeds and this one is no different. From Monday 13th to Sunday 19th February 2023, you can explore the adventure playground, wander through the woodland wonderland, check out the Who Am I? Exhibition and join an art club!

The Museum of Untold Stories. If you’d like to enjoy some family-friendly stories this half term, head to Leeds City Museum for The Museum of Untold Stories on Tuesday 14th February 2023. Alive & Kicking Theatre deliver an imaginative workshop that will see you help Icarus Blu create new stories for the world.
Family Printing Workshop. You can get creative this half term at Leeds Industrial Museum with the Family Printing Workshop from Tuesday 14th to Thursday 16th February 2023. You could learn printing techniques, create your own designs and take home the finished product.
The Great Escape. Abbey House Museum are bringing together nature and history this half term in Leeds. From Tuesday 14th to Sunday 19th February 2023, you can take a wondrous wander along the Victorian streets of the museum to find that they have been taken over by all kinds of British wildlife, from bunnies to seagulls.
Nick Sharratt’s All-New Picture Book Draw Along. One of the best half term activities in Leeds this half term is Nick Sharratt’s All-New Picture Book Draw Along. The much-loved writer and illustrator is showing how fab it can be to create characters on Wednesday 15th February 2023 – bring your pencil case!
Anything Could Happen. This epic family-friendly show delivers exactly what it promises this half term in Leeds. Anything Could Happen comes to Seven Arts with a performance that could go absolutely anywhere – their talented actors and comedians will take audience suggestions to create an incredible show on Wednesday 15th February 2023.
Half Term Animation Workshops. Do your kids love cartoons? This is the perfect half term activity! Hyde Park Picture House are taking over HEART in Headingley with animator Vincent James on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th February 2023 to help him create a new film for a public screening.

Left Bank Art Club. The ever-popular Art Club at Left Bank is back for this half term with Leeds artist Beatrice. Get ready for a morning or afternoon of craft-filled fun on Thursday 16th February 2023. You’ll create 2D images with collaged shapes and gold recycled materials, plus a 3D cardboard tree.
Cartoon Circus Live. All the fun of the circus arrives at Morley Town Hall on Thursday 16th February 2022 with two shows from Cartoon Circus Live. It combines the pantomime comedy with circus thrills in a one-hour show featuring clowns, performers, slapstick comedy, illusions, prizes and more.
Opera North Family Festival. Friday 17th February 2023 is Family Festival day at Howard Assembly Room. It’s a music-filled celebration with four separately ticketed events during half term in Leeds – there’s an interactive movement workshop, a family singing session, a mask making class and even a concert!
