Brasserie Blanc is one of the best family restaurants in Leeds, set in a beautiful converted mill next to the River Aire. As you might have guessed from the name, it serves fine French cuisine, but it’s not too upmarket to have a great kids’ menu. Your little ones have got choice aplenty, with simple, child-friendly eats like penne pasta, chicken goujons or a burger. Desserts and drinks are scrumptious too, with ice cream, sticky toffee pudding and hot chocolate all begging to be nommed.

Trinity Kitchen is one of the best places to eat with kids in Leeds, because everyone gets to pick exactly what they want. It’s a street food-style set up, where there are a plethora of eateries all touting their wares. You could be getting your hands on (and mouths around) Indian street food from Rola Wala, fresh burritos and tacos from Tortilla and healthy, veggie-packed ramen from Pho – and that’s not even mentioning the ever-changing menu from the temporary vendors.

Red’s True Barbecue
Red’s True Barbecue is, perhaps surprisingly, one of the most child-friendly restaurants Leeds has. You can munch on meaty delights like the brisket and burnt ends, or a burger with a donut for a bun, and the kids can have an equally delightful time. Their menu lets them choose from smoked ribs, smothered in BBQ sauce, a mini portion of mac and cheese or a vegan cheeseburger. They’ll be kept occupied with colouring in, games and quizzes, all on the back of the menu.

Banyan is one of Leeds’ great family restaurants. It’s got lots of tastiness on offer for breakfast, lunch and dinner whether you’re an adult or kid. Their menu is packed with British classics like a mini full English breakfast, fish & chips and a cheeseburger. Need entertainment? There’s colouring to do and games to be played while they wait. If they’ve got a sweet tooth (and they’ve got room), there’s three desserts to choose from – the waffle is a winner, with Nutella, toasted marshmallows, ice cream, Oreos and sprinkles.

The Botanist’s gardening theme makes it a fun experience for the whole family. You’ve got a stonking food and cocktail menu for the adults, with a kids’ menu full of yummy bites for little tummies. It’s all presented in tune with the theme, like ketchup for the cheeseburger served in tiny wheelbarrows and peas in plant pots with the chicken fingers. For dessert? There’s a trio of tasty choices, but the warm chocolate brownie with a Curly Wurly and ice cream is a winner. They even do kids’ roasts on Sundays! What’s not to love?

An elegant Italian restaurant set up with twinkling lights and an indoor tree, Gusto is an excellent place to celebrate a special occasion with the kids. The children’s menu here still feels Italian, even if you can get fish & chips. The rigatoni pasta can come fully dressed with meatballs, doused in creamy carbonara or simply plain for those fussy eaters. For dessert, little ones could be tucking into a delicious Bombolini – think sweet dough balls with cream, Biscoff and choccy sauce.

Indian Tiffin Room
Indian Tiffin Room is one of the best family friendly restaurants in Leeds. It’s an authentic Indian eatery, serving street food from all of its regions. They’ve got brightly coloured booths, flowers hanging from the ceiling and Indian-style artwork on the walls. The menu is equally vibrant, with dosas, curries and puris the order of the day. The kids’ menu is a mini version, so they could be munching on tandoori broccoli, a kids’ cheese dosa or a methi mutter malai – fenugreek leaves, peas and paneer in a creamy sauce.

Bill’s is one of the most relaxed family friendly restaurants in Leeds. It’s got a rustic feel, but little ones will be well catered for – staff will grab you a high chair at a moment’s notice. For breakfast, we’re talking everything from eggs on toast to buttermilk pancakes and mini vegan porridge. Lunch and dinner don’t disappoint either. Kids can feast on simple eats like macaroni and cheese, a hamburger or fish fingers and chips. Dessert comes in the form of chocolate mousse, ice cream or apple pie sundae.

Their dedicated kids’ menu has the usual fare like burgers and fish fingers, as well as Wacky Tacos and Crazy Quesadillas with fillings like fajita-spiced chicken, peppers and onions. Got older kids? Combining great value for money, incredible food and a family-friendly vibe, there’s no denying that Estabulo is one of the best places to eat with kids in Leeds – assuming you have an insatiable hunger for meat, that is. Estabulo brings tender, beautifully cooked cuts of meat to be carved at the table and they’ll just keep coming until you say stop. Think beef rump, chicken thighs, lamb, pork and more. You can pile your plate high with unlimited bread, salad and sides too. You’ll soon be full to bursting!

There’s no doubt about it, Giraffe is definitely up there when it comes to child-friendly places to eat in Leeds. It’s relaxed, colourful and the staff are super friendly. It’s got a grown-up menu with internationally inspired dishes, from Argentinian ribs to Hoisin duck salad and steak & chips. On the kids’ menu, you can find a selection of cheap eats. There’s breakfasts, including a full English and a pancake stack – all for only £1! When it comes to mains, there’s a pasta dish packed with hidden veggies, cheesy pizza and burgers.

Kids could be scoffing grilled chicken on skewers with peanut sauce, sweet and sour stir-fried mixed vegetables or a Thai-style omelette, all served with your choice of jasmine or yummy egg-fried rice.

One of Leeds’ only restaurants serving family-friendly Caribbean delights, it’s the perfect way to introduce a bit of heat to their little tastebuds. They have a dedicated kids’ menu, with top billing given to burgers (chicken or beef) and marinated chicken with chips. There’s even a tropical beach scene to colour in on the back. If your children are keen to explore new flavours, order a selection of small plates and sides off the grown-up menu to try together.

Sustainably-run brunch cafe Cha Lounge is for the eco-conscious families among us. Not only do they have a focus on reducing food waste, but they only use locally sourced, high-quality ingredients. They’ve got a kids’ menu full of options for veggies, vegans and carnivores. We’re talking mini takes on the filling fry-ups, healthy porridge, free-range egg omelettes and buttermilk pancakes. They’ve even got Babyccinos for the tots – steamed, frothy milk topped with a light dusting of chocolate. Yum!

Purveyors of tasty comfort food, Cosy Club have got a great selection of eats for kids and grown-ups. They’re known for a decent breakfast and this translates to the kids’ menu too. You could be gobbling up a plate full of classic breakfast foods like sausage, smoked bacon, eggs, beans and toast, while they’re feasting on a mini version beside you. For mains, there’s cheesy macaroni, served with peas and garlic bread soldiers perfect for dipping, or perhaps a veggie stir-fry with noodles will satisfy a tiny, rumbling belly.
