These are strange days. COVID-19 has affected every aspect of our lives – even the way we shop. We all need to stay in as much as possible, but while most of us can venture out for essentials, some of us aren’t as lucky – which is why we’ve rounded up this list of grocery stores that are doing deliveries. This way you can get the food you need, delivered to your door.
Pooky’s Deli. A lovely local deli, Pooky’s is doing a roaring trade in store cupboard essentials. They have everything from cheese and charcuterie to wine, beer and gin – it’s a veritable smorgasbord of essentials. They offer free delivery in Horsforth, LS19, LS16, LS5, LS6 and LS7 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Order online.
Out of This World. Natural food store Out of This World is now doing deliveries. They’re well stocked in everyday essentials like pulses, grains, and yes, chocolate. They also have loads of meat and dairy alternatives, as well as a wide selection of cleaning and beauty products. £20 minimum order, £3 delivery to LS postcodes, £5 delivery to BD and WF postcodes. Malcolm Michael’s. The city’s most famous butcher is offering free delivery to all LS, WF, BD, HD, HX and HG postcodes. Not only can you get meat here, including everything from sausages to steaks, but they’re also offering pies, cheese, butter and eggs. They’re taking orders through Facebook and there’s no minimum order value.
Spice Corner. Thanks to a cheeky partnership with Malcolm Michael’s, Spice Corner are also delivering. They have all the herbs and spices you could ever want, as well as fresh produce like chillies, yams and even plantain. Bluebird Bakery. Hand shaped and made using long-fermentation, Bluebird Bakery does bread right. You can get everything from seven seed sourdough to sunflower rye, but you need to give them at least three days notice. There’s a minimum order value of £10, delivery is £2.50 and you can order online. They deliver to Leeds postcodes on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Wildcraft Bakery. This local Leeds bakery is 100% gluten and peanut free, which means it’s perfect for coeliacs. You can get staples like sprouted buckwheat bread and white rolls alongside a vast selection of sweet treats. Their pièce de résistance? The irresistible chocolate orange glazed donut. Leeds Outdoor Market. A new addition to Facebook, Leeds Outdoor Market Fruit & Veg Delivery will bring you a box bursting with goodies. You can’t choose what you’ll get, but you can get a delicious selection of fruit and veg for £20, all handpicked on the day for freshness. They deliver to East Leeds, including Crossgates, Halton and Swillington.
O’Deli. The Otley deli has joined forces with local favourites Like Nana Did, Bondgate Bakery and Middlemiss Butchers to keep you well stocked with Yorkshire produce in lockdown. From locally-reared meat to fresh veggies, they’ve got it all and more, with indulgent deli treats like artisan chutneys and crackers. Setchfields. Local butcher Setchfields is offering a handy delivery service to the areas around LS8 and LS16. They have a vast selection of meat for you to choose from, but they’re also selling eggs, pasta and veg boxes. You need to order 48 hours in advance and you can do this by calling them on 0113 266 2015.
Haley and Clifford. A deli by nature, Haley & Clifford has really come through for the community. They have fresh meals, bread, eggs and milk, alongside their delicious baked goods – why not treat yourself to a homemade chicken and chorizo parcel? They’re delivering to LS8, LS7 and LS17 postcodes for free, all you need to do is order online.
Market Garden Leeds. Basic fruit and veg boxes are the order of the day at Market Garden Leeds. They’ve had a surge of demand lately, so they open their online shop in the morning and close it when they reach capacity to ensure no one is disappointed. George and Joseph. Cheese, glorious cheese! George and Joseph are offering a delivery service through the lockdown, so you can get your hands on cheese, bread and wine. Laynes Espresso. You can order a takeaway brunch and fill up the fridge at the same time with Laynes Espresso’s delivery service.
