Can’t go out? Even to shop? Fear not because we’ve rounded up 21 indies delivering groceries in Leeds.

These are strange days. COVID-19 has affected every aspect of our lives – even the way we shop. We all need to stay in as much as possible, but while most of us can venture out for essentials, some of us aren’t as lucky – which is why we’ve rounded up this list of grocery stores that are doing deliveries. This way you can get the food you need, delivered to your door.

Out of This World

Pooky’s Deli. A lovely local deli, Pooky’s is doing a roaring trade in store cupboard essentials. They have everything from cheese and charcuterie to wine, beer and gin – it’s a veritable smorgasbord of essentials. They offer free delivery in Horsforth, LS19, LS16, LS5, LS6 and LS7 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Order online.

Out of This World. Natural food store Out of This World is now doing deliveries. They’re well stocked in everyday essentials like pulses, grains, and yes, chocolate. They also have loads of meat and dairy alternatives, as well as a wide selection of cleaning and beauty products. £20 minimum order, £3 delivery to LS postcodes, £5 delivery to BD and WF postcodes. Malcolm Michael’s. The city’s most famous butcher is offering free delivery to all LS, WF, BD, HD, HX and HG postcodes. Not only can you get meat here, including everything from sausages to steaks, but they’re also offering pies, cheese, butter and eggs. They’re taking orders through Facebook and there’s no minimum order value.

Spice Corner. Thanks to a cheeky partnership with Malcolm Michael’s, Spice Corner are also delivering. They have all the herbs and spices you could ever want, as well as fresh produce like chillies, yams and even plantain. Delivery is free, but there’s a minimum order value of £15 – to order call 0784 890 9020 or message Malcolm Michael’s on Facebook.

Bluebird Bakery. Hand shaped and made using long-fermentation, Bluebird Bakery does bread right. You can get everything from seven seed sourdough to sunflower rye, but you need to give them at least three days notice. There’s a minimum order value of £10, delivery is £2.50 and you can order online. They deliver to Leeds postcodes on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Wildcraft Bakery. This local Leeds bakery is 100% gluten and peanut free, which means it’s perfect for coeliacs. You can get staples like sprouted buckwheat bread and white rolls alongside a vast selection of sweet treats. Their pièce de résistance? The irresistible chocolate orange glazed donut. You can order online and national delivery is £6.25.

Spice Corner at Leeds Kirkgate Market

Leeds Outdoor Market. A new addition to Facebook, Leeds Outdoor Market Fruit & Veg Delivery will bring you a box bursting with goodies. You can’t choose what you’ll get, but you can get a delicious selection of fruit and veg for £20, all handpicked on the day for freshness. They deliver to East Leeds, including Crossgates, Halton and Swillington.

O’Deli. The Otley deli has joined forces with local favourites Like Nana Did, Bondgate Bakery and Middlemiss Butchers to keep you well stocked with Yorkshire produce in lockdown. From locally-reared meat to fresh veggies, they’ve got it all and more, with indulgent deli treats like artisan chutneys and crackers. It’s free local delivery and you can order by calling 01943 969417.

Setchfields. Local butcher Setchfields is offering a handy delivery service to the areas around LS8 and LS16. They have a vast selection of meat for you to choose from, but they’re also selling eggs, pasta and veg boxes. You need to order 48 hours in advance and you can do this by calling them on 0113 266 2015.

Haley and Clifford

Haley and Clifford. A deli by nature, Haley & Clifford has really come through for the community. They have fresh meals, bread, eggs and milk, alongside their delicious baked goods – why not treat yourself to a homemade chicken and chorizo parcel? They’re delivering to LS8, LS7 and LS17 postcodes for free, all you need to do is order online.

Market Garden Leeds. Basic fruit and veg boxes are the order of the day at Market Garden Leeds. They’ve had a surge of demand lately, so they open their online shop in the morning and close it when they reach capacity to ensure no one is disappointed. Salad boxes start from £5, you can order online and delivery is free for orders over £7.50.

Eat Your Greens. They’ve always had a grocery store, but now it’s working overtime. From organic veg boxes to store cupboard essentials like quinoa, pasta and dairy-free milk, they have it all. Collect your goodies or get them delivered to your door, the choice is yours, and all you need to do is order online.


Grön. This little Scandinavian kafé has reopened as a grocery store, so you can get bread, milk and eggs, as well as an array of fresh fruit and veg, delivered by a local independent. Order online and spend over £15 for free local delivery, or you can collect from their Oakwood home, where you can get a proper cup of coffee to go.

Veg Box Co. The latest addition to the Threshfield Catering Supplies family, Veg Box Co. delivers restaurant-quality veg to people all over Leeds. Their fruit and veg boxes are packed with essentials, so you can get everything from apples to pears, aubergines to butternut squash. You can order online for delivery on a day of your choice.

George and Joseph. Cheese, glorious cheese! George and Joseph are offering a delivery service through the lockdown, so you can get your hands on cheese, bread and wine. Deliveries take place Monday to Friday and are free if you live within a 6-mile radius of the shop or it’s £6.50 for national delivery. You can order online.


R.Harris Fruiteers. Greengrocers R.Harris Fruiteers are delivering fruit and veg boxes to Crossgates, Aberford, Garforth, Kippax, Swillington, Barwick, Seacroft and surrounding areas. To make your order, text them on 0785 214 4827 or 0790 293 1905. There’s a minimum order value of £10 and it may take 24 hours for them to reply.

Bare Coffee. A tiny co-operative in the heart of the community, Bare Coffee have stepped in to help locals get their hands on essential supplies. They’re delivering milk, eggs, bread and veg boxes, locally sourced where possible, to anywhere within three miles of LS16 5NT. To place your order, just send them a message on Facebook.

Laynes Espresso. You can order a takeaway brunch and fill up the fridge at the same time with Laynes Espresso’s delivery service. They’ve got eggs, milk, butter and bread alongside freshly prepared pastries and cakes – the lime, courgette and pistachio loaf is a must-try. Order deliveries through Deliveroo.


Homage2Fromage. Cheese lovers, listen up. You can get everything from soft blue to smoked brie delivered to your door by the lovely folk at Homage2Fromage. They’ve delivering cheese boxes starting from £27. You’ll get a selection of 6 cheeses, with info cards to give you the story behind the cheese and key tasting notes. You can order online.

Le Chalet. The cafe may be closed, but Le Chalet is still delivering. They’ve created an online deli shop, cheese, chocolate and jams to wine, coffee and tea. They offer free delivery in Leeds and £8 national delivery. You can order online.
