3 Booze-centric Openings Coming Soon to Leeds

These are the exciting new additions on their way to Leeds.

A wine bar, a pub and a brand new Wetherspoon’s – they’re all coming to Leeds in the next few months.

2019 is almost over, but there’s still time to squeeze in one last list of openings coming soon to Leeds. We’ve got three additions to tell you about. You can look forward to hand-picked wines and locally sourced beers at two new Morley watering holes or sit on your hands and wallets as you prepare for the impending arrival of a new Wetherspoon’s in Cross Gates…

Old Fashioned

The Lord Mayor of Morley’s former home is being transformed into a cool wine bar. The building has undergone a major refurbishment, so it now has modern touches like statement staircases alongside the original sash windows and wooden beams. There will be hand-picked wines from vineyards across the world, creative cocktails designed by experienced mixologists and premium beers from Leeds and beyond. You can pair your drinks with a menu of light bites – and bring your dancing shoes because they’ll have DJs playing tunes across the weekend.

Eighteen90 will open on Queen Street, Morley on Saturday 7th December 2019.

The Station Hop

Craft beer, bar

If you like craft beer, The Station Hop in Morley will be well worth a visit. It’s the work of Mick Steel and Mick Connolly, two friends who have 40 years of experience in the industry. They’re using their expertise to source the finest brews from local and European breweries, which you can enjoy in a warm, welcoming bar. If you’re not a fan of beer, don’t fret – they’ll be serving wine and spirits too. The new bar is right by the station, so you’ll only have a short walk (or stagger) to your ride home.

The Station Hop will open on Station Road, Morley on Thursday 12th December 2019.

The Charles Henry Roe

There’s another Wetherspoon’s coming to Leeds in the New Year. The Charles Henry Roe is opening in Cross Gates and it’s been a long time coming. After years battling with Leeds City Council, the pub’s transformation from an old doctors’ surgery into a modern pub is now entering the final stage. Once open, it will have a huge bar at the front, with plenty of seating towards the rear. You can even look forward to sunny days outside as their beer garden will have room for up to 70 people.

The Charles Henry Roe will open on Austhorpe Road, Cross Gates on Tuesday 3rd March 2020.
