When it comes to keeping the drinks flowing, the city’s Happy Hour deals can be rather handy. But where should you go in Leeds and what can you get for your hard earned cash? We’ve rounded up some of the best to help you have a great night out on the cheap.
The latest opening in Victoria Gate, East 59th is a New York-inspired loft in the heart of the city centre – and yes, they have a Happy Hour. Head over from 5pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday to get in on the action. You can get a glass of prosecco for £3.50, a house wine for £3, a spirit and mixer for £3.50 and a bottled beer for £2.50. Even better, their cocktails are on two for £8, so you can try the likes of their Long Island Iced Tea, Canarsie Cooler and Mint Julep.

Not many bars in Leeds run a Happy Hour on a Friday, but Distrikt has never been afraid to go against the grain – and in this case, it means you can kick-start your weekend without bankrupting yourself. From 5pm to 10pm, you can get a pint of Guinness, Amstel or Symonds Cider for £3. Prefer spirits? Their house vodka, rum, gin and single bourbon with a mixer comes in at the same price. Then there’s wine – bag a bottle for a £11, a 250ml glass for £4 or a 175ml glass for £3. If that doesn’t suit, they also offer 2-4-1 cocktails on Thursdays until 2am.

Be At One is obsessed with cocktails. They have an almost overwhelming list for you to pick from, and they’re constantly adding to it. Better still, until 8pm from Monday to Wednesday, 7pm from Thursday to Saturday and all day Sunday, you can get two for the price of one. Delve into familiar favourites like their Pina Colada, Porn Star Martini or Sex on the Beach, then if you’re feeling adventurous, follow it with the likes of the You So Sake, bringing together plum sake, Chivas 18 year whiskey and rhubarb bitters.

A waterfront bar from the guys behind Belgrave and Headrow House, it’s no wonder Water Lane Boathouse has become an instant sensation – but you might want to time your visit carefully, because their Happy Hour is too good to miss. It’s available all day Sunday and Monday, then after 8pm from Tuesday to Thursday. Buy one Water Lane G&T and you can get a second for £1 – it’s a double and it comes in a goblet. It may be a big chain, but Las Iguanas have one of the most famous Happy Hours in the city, giving you a chance to bag 2-4-1 cocktails all day every day. Head to the corner of Call Lane to make the most of Revolución de Cuba’s Happy Hour deals. The Leeds bar serves up a slew of bargains from 3pm until 7pm Monday to Friday and 5pm to 7pm on Saturdays. As always, Outlaws do things a little bit differently. Their Happy Hour hits the morning after the night before, with a Sunday 2-4-1 deal on their famous Bloody Marys. It’s the perfect way to cure your hangover and ease your way into the day, so roll out of bed late and get yourself down there for a Sunday to remember (depending on how many you have). If you can’t face it on Sunday, try their Wednesday cocktail sessions, with 2-4-1 concoctions all day or drop by between 5pm and 8pm every day of the week to enjoy a house spirit and mixer, medium glass of house wine or a pint of Freedom lager for just £3.30.

The Old Red Bus Station brings together a mix of art, music, food and drink – which means you’ll want to plan a visit, but make sure you time it right.
