The deep-fried Mac Got Fat is living proof that vegan junk food is downright dirty. Head to the famed all-vegan eatery Cantina where you’ll get two fresh buns stuffed with a gooey mac’n’cheese patty, which is topped with a spicy black bean chilli and fresh salad. But it doesn’t stop there, because you’ll also get a juicy deep fried pickle is thrown into the mix for good measure.

Bundobust’s Raghda Pethis is a wholesome vegan feed that fuses classic Indian flavours with Northern English staples that we all know and love. They pair an old school potato cake with spicy mushy peas, then load on turmeric noodles, diced tomato and onion. And to tie it all together, they add a dash of sweet and sour tamarind chutney which brings this culinary marriage to life.

Seitan Voner

I Am Doner

The Seitan Voner is proof that vegan food can be down, dirty and delicious too. It starts with a fresh tortilla, lightly toasted on both sides. Then comes thin slices of pickled pink cabbage and the crunch of red onion, before the fresh kick of cucumber and tomato chunks. To round it off, you’ll get mounds of flame-grilled seitan doner meat, lovingly mixed with a dollop of their basil & fava bean dip, chilli sauce, vegan mayonnaise and a sprinkling of lemon juice and coriander. Finally, the tortilla is wrapped up, ready for you to sink your teeth into it.

Got a hankering for a big juicy burger? Look no further than Knaves Kitchen’s incredible OBB, or Onion Bahji Burger. They fry fresh onions with a pinch of turmeric and chilli to make the golden bahji patty, then tuck it inside a soft brown roll. Crisp iceberg lettuce and thick cut tomato are piled on, then the whole mixture is drizzled with cucumber ketchup and traditional recipe riata for a cooling creaminess. Just one bite and you’ll be hooked.
