Delicious dinners made with love by your favourite independents and delivered to your door.
Right now, we’re all stuck inside, but it’s harder for some than others. If you’re vulnerable or self-isolating, you can’t leave the house to get food, so you’re reliant on ordering something in, and with supermarket delivery slots booked up, that’s harder than it sounds. Luckily, the city’s independents have come through for you by creating their own menus of ready-made meals you can store and reheat at home, so you’ll never have to go without a hearty, wholesome dinner.
Independent coffee shop Opposite has pivoted the heck out of lockdown. They’re now offering a range of chilled ready-meals to keep you going through isolation. You can buy and reheat three 100% Vegan dishes – homemade Homity Pie, Mac n Cheese and Shepherdess Pie. Each dish serves two if you add a heart portion of veg or one if you’re feeling utterly greedy. Couple them with fresh buddha bowls and smoothies to make lockdown deliciously good. Their ready-made dishes are £8 each.
You can order chilled ready-meals through Deliveroo.
Heaney & Mill
It’s fair to say that Heaney & Mill has rocked lockdown. Hampers, Sunday roasts, ready-meals – you name it, they’ve done it. The latter has been carefully crafted by their Executive Chef & MasterChef Finalist Tom Rennolds, so expect restaurant-quality fare you can fix up at home. There are seven dishes in total with five mains and two puddings. Feast on beer and chorizo chilli one night, then apricot and chickpea tagine the next. Finish with their irresistibly gooey chocolate fudge brownie for the ultimate self-isolation feed. Ready-meals are £5.50 each or £10 for £50.
You can order their chilled ready-meals by emailing email@example.com or calling the restaurant on 0113 278 1640.
Home-cooked meals are the order of the day with Tribeca’s ready meal service. They’ve put together a menu of healthy, nutritious frozen meals to keep you and your loved ones going through isolation. They’ve focused on classic dishes we all know and love. Traditional fare like beef lasagne, lamb moussaka and cottage pie. Vegetarian? No problem, there’s an entire menu just for you. One person dishes are £4.50 each or 3 for £12, two-person dishes are £9 each or 3 for £24.

Stew & Oyster
Back open and ready to sort you out with a delicious feed, Stew & Oyster are making their famous bowls to go. From beef in beer to lentil daal, their hearty stews come frozen, so you can stock up and keep the whole family going, even in isolation. Need sides? No problem. Creamy mash, sautéed seasonal greens and savoury rice all make an appearance on the menu. Hell, you can even get a jam roly poly to finish. Prices vary depending on the dish, but you can save £5 if you buy four stews and four sides.
You can order online to click and collect or book a delivery to LS7, LS8 & LS17 postcodes between 3pm-8pm Wednesday, Friday & Saturday.
Eat Your Greens
For the remainder of lockdown, Eat Your Greens will now be known as Heat Your Greens because they’re just launched a new menu of ready-made favourites. They’re brought their usual organic flair to your homemade dinners with dishes like mushroom pearl barley otto with vegan parmesan crumb and potato terrine with aubergine dip. There’s chocolate cake for pudding too, so they’ve struck the perfect balance between naughty and nice. Prices start from £9 per meal, but if you want to splash out with an almighty brunch box, you’re looking at £20.
You can order Heat Your Greens online for collection at the restaurant or for their Friday delivery slots.
