Here’s five more new arrivals for your perusal.

Banh mi, Vietnamese food

A Vietnamese restaurant, a burger joint and a major Canadian coffee shop – check out this quintet of new openings on their way to Leeds.

Here we go again, another set of new openings to look forward to as lockdown eases and plans to open get nailed down. We’ve got everything you need to know on five new additions that are going leave their mark in Leeds over the next few months. There’s a popular Vietnamese restaurant coming over from Sheffield, a duo of new street food joints and the arrival of Canada’s biggest coffee chain. Take a look at what’s coming our way so you can plan which you’ll visit first.

Nam Song

Nam Song is a Vietnamese bar, coffee shop and restaurant all rolled into one. It’s preparing to open on Merrion Street later this year on the back of its first restaurant in Sheffield being a huge success. During the day, you can look forward to a lighter menu of Vietnamese cafe wares, like Summer Rolls, Bánh Mì baguettes and Bún salads paired with their traditional Vietnamese coffee. In the evening, they introduce classics like the Com Tâm broken rice dishes and Phò noodle soups.

Nam Song is opening on Merrion Street in Summer 2021.

Kerbside Kids

There are two shipping containers in the grounds of Springwell that will soon serve street food yumminess. The first is Little Bao Boy, which we all know and love, but the second is something new – introducing Kerbside Kids. Burgers are their thing, so you can expect to tuck into juicy patties served with crinkle cut fries and bone marrow gravy, but they don’t restrict themselves. There are vegan specials, taco weekends and collaborations on the horizon, so no two visits have to be the same.

Kerbside Kids is opening at Springwell in Spring 2021.

The Little Monk Restaurant and Bar

The team behind Horsforth’s Woodside Micro Pub are plotting a brand new venue in the area. They’ve taken over the old Pizza Express on Town Street and are currently giving it a massive makeover. The Little Monk will be a bar and restaurant that takes its inspiration from the best in Belgian and German food and drink. Think moules frites washed down with a Belgian blonde and schnitzel paired with a classic Helles lager. Delicious!

The Little Monk Restaurant and Bar is opening on Town Street, Horsforth in 2021.

Here Comes The Bun

Since it’s not viable for The Swine That Dines to reopen right now, they’re lending their kitchen to a brand new temporary takeaway. Here Comes The Bun are pros at baking buns and then filling them with all kinds of deliciousness, from beef fat to pork & paprika. But that’s not all – their twist on the humble roast potatoes, covered with cheddar, bacon, crispy onions and chilli mayo, needs to be tried, followed by their trademark Pudding Pie for dessert.

Here Comes The Bun opens at The Swine That Dines in April 2021.

Tim Horton’s

Oh, this is a big one. Tim Horton’s is opening its first cafe in Leeds later this year. The Canadian coffee and donuts brand is moving into the old Pizza Hut restaurant at Birstall Retail Park and turning it into a drive-thru cafe. You can look forward to their legendary donuts and bite-sized versions, known as Timbits, which are perfect for dunking in their famous coffee. Need a bigger bite? They do a host of fast food favourites too, from the Crispy Chicken Sandwich to the Grilled Cheese Melt.

Tim Horton’s is opening at Birstall Retail Park in late 2021.
