Taste the Orient Food Court
Taste the Orient is already an established Asian supermarket in Leeds city centre, but now they’re branching out with a brand new food court venue in the former Dawson’s shop next door. It will bring flavours from across the Asian world to Leeds. From Thai curries to Korean fried chicken, steaming bowls of ramen to loaded plates of noodles, get ready for an Oriental taste sensation.
Taste the Orient Food Court opens on Vicar Lane in August 2022.
Pinnacle Beer & Gin Hall
The former Roxy Lanes on Bond Court will reopen in May with the owners in the middle of transforming it into the Pinnacle Beer & Gin Hall. It promises something for everyone – get ready to quaff over 100 gins as well as craft and world beers from over 20 draught lines. Fancy a game? There’s seven pool tables, shuffleboard tables and live sports too.
Pinnacle Beer & Gin Hall opens on Bond Court on Thursday 19th May 2022.
Love Greek food? Visit Oakwood often? If the answer is ‘nai!’, this is going to be exciting. PittaFan is bringing authentic Greek street food to the North Leeds suburbs as it transforms the former Preston Baker estate agents into a go-to spot for Mediterranean grub. That means you can look forward to scoffing gyros filled with grilled meats, tasty souvlaki platters and fried lokma Greek doughnuts.
PittaFan will open at 641 Roundhay Road, Oakwood in late 2022.
The old Dare Coffee was a real foodie favourite in Headingley, and so it will be once more, because it’s been taken over by Tada. This is an elegant-yet-casual Japanese restaurant split across two floors. Downstairs, the laid-back sushi bar serves up freshly prepared rolls alongside sake and cocktails. Upstairs, expect a vibrant Japanese dining room, home to ramen, skewers and yakitori.
Tada will open in Headingley in Summer 2022.
The Cheesy Living Co.
A lockdown success story takes its next steps as The Cheesy Living Co. prepares to open its first permanent home in Leeds Corn Exchange. Jake Fischer and Sophie Branowsky set up this cheese and charcuterie box service back in January 2021, now as well as doing deliveries, they’re opening a people-facing deli. Pop in for fresh British meats and cheese to enjoy at home.

They’re currently serving up all kinds of juiciness in Northern Monk’s pop-up kitchen, but Honest Burger are also preparing their permanent arrival in Leeds. They’re taking over the former BrewDog on Cloth Hall Street with a summer opening planned. Alongside their regular menu of patty-based joy, you can look forward to two Leeds-only creations, The Northern Monk and The Roast.

Foley’s Tap House
It’s been closed since the height of the pandemic, but Mr Foley’s will be reopening under new ownership in the coming months. Soon-to-be-known-as Foley’s Tap House, the wonderful Black Sheep Brewery have taken the famous pub over so it can continue to be a real ale wonderland for generations to come – prepare for tasty brews from Black Sheep and a bunch of guest breweries.
