Two Italian eateries, two restaurants in the suburbs and an all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant – find out what’s coming soon to Leeds.
It’s time for us introduce you to another set of new arrivals on their way to Leeds. You’ve got a celebrity name opening their second Italian restaurant in the city, the arrival of a new pizzeria-cum-deli on New Briggate and Leeds’ first ever all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant, as well as two exciting additions in the suburbs. It’s all going on in Leeds…
There’s an all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant coming to the Merrion Centre. Blue Sakura has found fame in Europe, but it’s opening its first UK venue in Leeds and it’s going to be a must-try. Their huge oriental-style restaurant will hold up to 150 diners and you can tuck into fresh Japanese sushi, as well as unlimited Asian-style grill dishes. Order as many dishes as you like through the tablet built into your table.
Blue Sakura will open in the Merrion Centre in Autumn 2018.
Feed is the new venture from the folks behind Vice and Virtue and Aperitivo. Owner and renowned chef Luke Downing is set to open a laid-back, all-day restaurant in the heart of Pudsey that will take you from breakfast to dinner. Jonathan Hawthorne is coming in as Head Chef – you might know the name, he’s the man behind the XO Supper Club. The bar will be open if you just want a few drinks, but the real highlight is the food – and you can even get it to take away.
Feed will open at 163 Richardshaw Lane, Pudsey in Autumn 2018.
Massimo Deli and Pizzeria
Massimo is an exciting new deli and pizzeria that’s coming to New Briggate. Expect quality Italian eats all day long – you can pop in for a morning coffee from Rountons in Northallerton, followed by fresh salad bowls or gourmet sandwiches at lunch. Their speciality is hand-made wood-fired pizza, which they serve all day long. They’ll also have a deli counter full of fresh, local produce, so you can make your own Italian eats at home.
Massimo Deli and Pizzeria will open on New Briggate in August 2018.
Gino D’Acampo’s Pizza and Prosecco Bar
Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo already has a popular eatery in Leeds, but soon he’ll have two. He’s bringing his Pizza and Prosecco Bar to Thorpe Park – expect authentic wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, with toppings like Italian sausage, friarielli, buffalo mozzarella and chilli, alongside classic pasta and grill dishes. Wash it down with an extensive prosecco and cocktail menu.
Gino D’Acampo’s Pizza and Prosecco Bar will open at Thorpe Park Retail Park in Autumn 2018.
After 18 years, Headingley favourite Arc is closing its doors. It’ll reopen as Manahatta in August, after a £500,000 renovation. Expect creative cocktails, a US-themed food menu and Headingley’s first bottomless brunch. Since it’s in Leeds’ student heartland, they’re adding a few playful elements – you’ll be able to watch the big game on one of 14 HD screens, beat your mates in the shuffleboard zone and look forward to DJs, saxophonists and percussionists come the weekend.
Manahatta will open on North Lane, Headingley in August 2018.
