Proove Pizza

Seven new arrivals and one exciting announcement from the most beloved speakeasy in the city – be the first to find out what’s coming soon to Leeds.

That’s right, we’ve got another batch of new openings to tell you about and you’re going to love ‘em. There are two new bottle shops in the pipeline, as well as a cafe, a bakery, a pizzeria, a fitness club and a pop-up plant shop. But that’s not all, because one of our favourite city centre cocktail bars is a-changing and it’s going to be epic…

Trailblazer Underground Fitness Club

Fitness, gym

Leeds bootcamp specialists, Trailblazer, are opening a new fitness club. Unlike anything that has come before, it’ll take over a 3,000 square foot basement in St Catherine’s Mill in Bramley. It’s not a gym, they’ll be dealing purely in fitness classes, and they’ll be served up in an incredible club-like setting – they’ve been working with lighting specialists and sound engineers to create something totally unique. Alongside their signature classes which combine fitness, Thai boxing and boxing pad work, they’ll also offer everything from clubbercise to zumba, body combat and yoga.

Beer Thirty

Craft beer, real ale, bottle shops

There’s an exciting new opening for craft beer aficionados in South Leeds this summer. Beer Thirty is a brand new bottle shop and pour house in the heart of Morley. Expert beers from the finest craft breweries in the world, with everything from Saltaire to Vocation, Cloudwater and Zapato. Not only can you buy the latest cans and bottles to enjoy at home, but they may well add a brewery tap to their offering, since Truth hurts Brew Co. is just next door.

Beer Thirty will open in Morley in July 2018.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a bit of greenery to your home, now’s your chance because Geo-fleur are on their way to Leeds. The online plant subscription specialists will take over part of the city’s Fred Aldous store with a pop-up shop this summer. So instead of having plants delivered to you, you can go and pick them up. They stock a range of different plants that thrive indoors, from succulents and cacti to ferns, ivy and spider plants.

Moortown is getting a cool new independent cafe this summer as Corner House Coffee Bar prepares to open. They’re creating a rustic, Yorkshire-themed escape in the heart of the suburbs and it’s going to be open from early in the morning until late, so there’s something for everyone. You can pop in for a morning coffee and a full English or enjoy a lunchtime sarnie and a cuppa. In the evening, they’re going to have a Spanish tapas menu, which you can wash down with a bottle of wine, a cocktail or craft beer.

Corner House Coffee Bar will open on Harrogate Road, Moortown in Summer 2018.

Proove Pizza

Proove Pizza

Proove Pizza started as a pop-up, but they’ve since gone on to open restaurants in Sheffield and West Didsbury – now they’re adding Leeds to the list. Right now, you can only get their wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas on Deliveroo, but by the end of the summer, you’ll be able to visit their new restaurant in person. Expect classics like the Diavola, Margherita and Quattro Stagioni, alongside one-offs like the San Daniele, which is topped with prosciutto, rocket and parmesan. They also serve salads, antipasti and an extensive menu of Italian wines.

Proove Pizza will open in Leeds in Summer 2018.

The Assembly

Craft beer, real ale, bottle shops

Crossgates will be the place to be this summer because it’s getting a new bottle shop, cafe and bar. The Assembly will be a place where the local community can come together. You’ll be able to browse their vast selection of craft beer, specialist wines and premium spirits, whether you’re drinking in or taking away. It’s not just booze, though – expect charcuterie platters, sharing boards and bar snacks to soak it all up.

The Assembly will open on Terminus Parade, Crossgates in Summer 2018.

42 The Bakehouse

After making a huge success of their first home in Castleford, 42 The Bakehouse is finally expanding into Leeds this summer. They’ve found the perfect unit in Farsley to sell their wares. You’ll be able to pop in and pick up freshly baked loaves, pies, cakes and pastries, but that’s not all. They also do lunch, with a choice of sandwiches, burgers and salads, or you can just nip in to grab a caffeine boost with coffee from Piacetto Espresso.

The Maven is a cocktail-loving speakeasy hidden behind an unmarked doorway. They’re famous for their award-winning cocktails, but soon you’ll have another reason to go because they’re expanding upstairs to open a brand new restaurant. They’re currently hard at work getting the new floor ready, but if their food is anywhere near as good as their cocktails, this might just be one of the most exciting announcements of the year.

The Maven’s new restaurant will be open in 2018.
