There’s nothing quite like cosying up in a proper Yorkshire pub. Digging into homemade fare, sipping a freshly-poured ale and singing along to cracking live music – what could be better? With the brand new supper club package from Concept Taverns, you can have all three by the bucketload. Get your mates on the phone and grab your coat, it’s time for Friday night festivities.
Enjoy a night of food and drink
The supper club brings together three of life’s greatest pleasures, wrapping them up in one oh-so-affordable package. For £25 per person, you can dig into shareable bites and refreshing drinks, with a live music performance to boot. Taking place at venues across Guiseley, Horsforth, Bingley and Thackley, it’s a great way to check out somewhere new while catching up with friends and having a boogie. Who knows? You might stumble across your new favourite pub.
Let’s start with the bevs. Each of you will receive two tokens to spend on selected drinks, including selected draught beer and cider, Prosecco, wine, house spirit and mixer and soft drinks. Food comes in the form of a charcuterie board and sharing nibbles, followed by a glorious hand-stretched pizza for two. Once you’ve had your fill, settle down as the artist takes to the stage to perform an acoustic set of classic covers. This is what Fridays were made for.
Explore Yorkshire’s pub scene
So, where do these epic feasts take place? The first partaking pub is The Malt Brewhouse in Horsforth. One for the hop heads, the Brewhouse boasts no less than 16 lines of beer, including cask ales fresh from the on-site microbrewery. Kirkstall, Ossett, Timothy Taylor’s – all the big guns are here. After a pint or three, test your skills on the shuffleboard table – the first in Horsforth – or grab a game of pool before the artist takes to the stage.
Next up, it’s over to Thackley. The Great Northern Brewhouse is a pillar of the local community, known for its warm and friendly atmosphere and quality food and drink. There are 16 beer lines, a range of cocktails and perfect serves and its very own pizza kitchen – just wait until the aroma of freshly-baked dough hits you. Away from the bar, you’ll find a pool table and a dedicated darts room – the perfect hidey-hole in which to while away an evening.
Over in Bingley you’ll find the Market Square Tavern. This lovingly-designed venue is modern and welcoming, oozing charm and personality in equal measures. Grab a drink from an extensive selection, find a cosy spot to settle down in and dive into your sharing feast before the music begins. If you prefer things competitive, challenge a mate on the pool table or try your hand at rebound shuffleboard. There are also plenty of screens to keep up with live sporting action.
Last but not least it’s the Hawkhill Tavern. This former social club has undergone a massive transformation to become one of Guiseley’s most popular venues. It’s a beer-lover’s paradise – take your pick from a whopping 21 lines of draught serving everything from local ales from the likes of Timothy Taylor’s to international lagers such as the Italian-brewed Angelo Poretti. With shuffleboard, live sports and a beer garden for summer evenings, there’s plenty to keep you busy.
