200 different gins await at Salon Privé, making it the perfect stop on this boozy crawl of Leeds. You can sup local favourites like Greystone Small Batch London Dry Gin from the Harewood Food and Drink Project or try something a little adventurous. Anyone for Audemus Pink Pepper Gin? It brings together the fresh, spicy notes of pepper, juniper and cardamon – pair it with their zesty Fever-Tree Aromatic tonic and sup it out on their raised terrace.

The Botanist

Head to Boar Lane and pay a visit to one of Leeds’ most adventurous gin bars. The Botanist is dedicated to experimenting with botanical concoctions. Their gin menu is split into four sections, floral, citrus, spicy and herbaceous, so you can pick your perfect serve according to your tastes. All your favourites are here, from Langley’s to the delightfully named Shnoodlepip Gin. If you’re feeling adventurous, they have a secret gin, served with London Essence tonic water, a wedge of pink grapefruit and a sprig of rosemary.

Smokestack

One of Leeds’ best spots for a G&T, Smokestack combines a laid-back atmosphere with regular live music to create a popular city hotspot. They blur the line between a G&T and cocktails to create five delicious concoctions, with the likes of Botanist Gin, kaffir lime & pink peppercorn cordial with pineapple soda and mint or Sipsmith London Cup Gin, blueberry & basil syrup, frozen raspberry, aquafaba and lemon.

Jake’s Bar and Still Room

Jake's BarWhen it comes to G&Ts in Leeds, you simply have to stop at Jake’s Bar. This atmospheric basement bar pulls out all the stops with their very own 30-litre copper still, nicknamed Tabitha. That’s right, they home brew an ever-changing array of spirits, so you can get a drink to remember every time you visit. If it’s traditional gins you’re after, Portobello Road is top of the list. After all, owner Jake also co-owns Portobello Road Gin, so you can be sure of a perfect serve.

The final stop on our gin crawl is The Maven, one of Leeds’ finest secret bars. Best known for its Prohibition-era decor, you’ll be pleased to know that it also has a stellar selection of gin. Monkey 47, Aviation, Hendricks and even Plymouth Sloe gin, they’re all here, ready to be combined with a hearty dose of Fevertree Indian tonic. If you’re looking to spice up your G&T flavours, they also pair them with botanicals, like Monkey 47 and elderflower cordial or Aviation with creme de violette and lemon juice.
