Bottomless fizz, unlimited red wine and free-flow white wine – now that’s how you do a roast dinner.
The humble Sunday roast just got better because Crafthouse has made it bottomless! Why not kick off proceedings with one of their artfully designed starters? You could treat yourself to coronation chicken terrine, served with pickled watermelon, pancetta and spiced feta biscuit or go for their torched soused mackerel with smoked rillettes of mackerel, fennel & courgette salad and sesame tofu dressing. Veggie? Their artichoke & celeriac soup is just as tempting – it comes with a black pepper cracker, truffle cheese and green olive tapenade. Delish!
Then it’s time for the main event. Executive Chef Lee Murdoch makes a mighty fine roast dinner, and as always, the devil is in the detail. You’ve got four options – they’ll be serving outdoor reared pork loin, rump cap of Scottish beef and Yorkshire leg of lamb, alongside a vegetarian mushroom en croute. And they come with all the trimmings.
Think balsamic & honey roast carrots, sautéed tenderstem broccoli and homemade cauliflower cheese. There are proper roast potatoes too, cooked with garlic, thyme and butter, plus you can try the secret recipe Yorkshire puddings from local chef Joe Carrol.
If you go for one of the meat options, you’ll get their delectable stewed peas. These tasty little morsels are cooked in chicken stock with lettuce, but what makes them really special is the pancetta, which is fried in butter with shallots and garlic until it’s wonderfully crispy. Top it all with their indulgent gravy, which brings together stock, shallots, garlic, red wine and herbs.
If you can squeeze in another course, they have a medley of desserts on offer. From the nutmeg créme brûlée to the sticky toffee pudding and the pavlova, they all come with Murdoch’s signature twist. And all the while, you can sup unlimited white wine, red wine and prosecco. Get in!
