Get ready for the Friends of Gin Festival.

Gin lovers rejoice – a brand new gin festival is coming to Leeds for the bank holiday weekend.

You’ve got another gin festival to look forward to this summer – The Friends of Gin Festival will take over Trinity Kitchen on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th May 2018. Created by gin lovers for gin lovers, it promises over 80 different gins, all priced at £5 a pop, and they’ll be served up with street food and live music.

It’s been put together by Friends of Gin, a Leeds-based gin gift box and subscription service set up by Dan Wainwright. “The Friends of Gin Festival is the perfect place for you to taste, learn and enjoy all kinds of gins with your friends,” Wainwright told us. “We wanted our customers to not only enjoy our hand-selected gins with us at home, but also enjoy them with us at our yearly event.”

Your ticket will get you a copa glass, a detailed gin guide, a pin badge and a £5 token to get your first drink – the question is, what will you use it on? There will be eight bars dotted about Trinity Kitchen, with a unique selection of gins at each one. You could try something from right here in Yorkshire or expand your horizons with tipples from all over the world – think Adnams First Rate, Manchester Raspberry Gin and Puerto de Indias Strawberry Gin.

As well as serving a handpicked selection of gins, they’ll also have a few exclusives which have been made especially for the festivals. Trinity Leeds will launch their second batch of gin in conjunction with Leeds Gin and all profits will be donated to charity.

And if you’re in the mood for cocktails, check out Friends of Gin’s exclusive espresso martini. They’ve teamed up with Maude Coffee to create the Nitro Espresso Martini. It’s designed to be poured out of a beer pump, and the nitro gas will give the drink a special froth and taste.

After you’ve had a few gins, you might get a bit peckish, but this is Trinity Kitchen, so you’ll have no trouble sating your appetite. All the permanent traders will be open, including the latest opening Absurd Burd, and there will be six temporary traders who will be announced in the run up to the event. They’ve also got live music from covers duo Maria & Gemma on both days, alongside a live saxophonist.

The Friends of Gin Festival takes over Trinity Leeds from 6.30pm until 11pm on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th May 2018. Tickets are £10 each and available now.
