Get your diary out, because this month, you’re going to want to plan your social calendar around Eat Leeds Restaurant Week. It runs from Monday 14th to Sunday 20th August 2017 – and for those seven days, you’ll have your pick of over 70 restaurants, all of which will be offering a two or three course meal for £10 or £15. Narrowing down your options will be incredibly tricky, so we’ve picked out 10 of the best…

3 courses for £15 at Iberica

Iberica Leeds

There has never been a better time to visit Iberica, because they’ll be giving you a delicious taste of what they do for Eat Leeds Restaurant Week. The menu is simple. You can get their signature asparagus on toast with Manchego, onion confit and truffle oil, alongside croquetas de jamón and twice cooked lamb – and all for just £15. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the restaurant yet, it’s a little slice of Spain, transplanted in Leeds, so get ready for that holiday feeling.

3 courses for £15 at The Cat’s Pyjamas

Cat's Pyjamas Leeds

A cool, informal restaurant that serves up a menu of Indian street food created by Alfred Prasad, the youngest Indian chef to ever receive a Michelin star, The Cat’s Pyjamas is a must-try and now you’ve got the perfect excuse to do it. You can get three courses for just £15, so why not start with their vada pav, a spicy Indian burger made with a potato cake, before moving onto lamb rogan josh and mango kulfi? This is one of the bigger menus on the list, so if that’s not your cup of tea, there’s oodles of choice.

2 courses for £15 at Veritas

Right now, they’re in the middle of a huge refurbishment project, but Veritas is reopening just in time for Eat Leeds Restaurant Week and they have a menu that’s too good to miss. They’re doing two courses for £15. Start with the likes of cauliflower, almond and white wine truffle soup before moving onto the main event – think braised neck of lamb with Lyonnaise potatoes and port & redcurrant jus.

3 courses for £15 at Shears Yard

Not only is Shears Yard one of the most beautiful restaurants in Leeds, it also has a reputation for cooking up some of the most creative dishes – and you can check them out for less this August. They’ve got a special menu lined up for you, but as usual, it’ll change depending on the fresh, local produce they can get their hands on. You could tuck into anything from rolled pig’s head & ham hock terrine to herb potato rosti with pea & mint puree – all for just £15 for three courses.

3 courses for £15 at Cantina

The Cantina Old Red Bus Station

As the only vegan restaurant in the city centre, Cantina has quickly won over the city’s vegetarian population, but what you might be surprised to hear is that their creative menu is just as popular with carnivores. You’ll get to try a little bit of everything with their Eat Leeds Restaurant Week menu. Start with one of their tapas plates, like the roasted garlic and aubergine bruschetta before delving into the pulled jackfruit burger, vegan paella or miso ramen. And to finish? Avocado and blueberry coconut sorbet or a raw beetroot and cacao brownie.

2 courses for £15 at Chez Mal

Chez Mal

The swanky restaurant beneath Malmaison is the next addition to our list and when you find out what’s on the menu, you’ll understand why. From slow cooked brisket with blackened sweet potatoes, succotash and chimichurri to char-grilled chicken breast with crunchy Thai salad and satay sauce, there’s a little something for everyone here. Couple your main with a starter or a pudding – personally, we’d plump for banoffee cheese cake, caramelised banana and Valrhona chocolate sauce.

3 tapas plates for £10 at Ambiente

Waterfront restaurant Ambiente is getting in on the action too, with a special tapas menu. They have all your favourites, including patatas bravas, calamares fritos and albóndigas, but why not try something new? The bistec de arrachera is an incredible combination of dry rubbed beef with BBQ roasted onions and chimichurri, while the buñuelos de garbanzos promises chickpea, spinach & potato fritters served with tomato and chilli salsa. Whichever you choose, you can get three courses for just £10.

2 courses for £15 at Blackhouse Bar & Grill

If you’re looking for a lavish lunch, this is the one for you. Blackhouse Bar & Grill are throwing their hat into the mix with a scrumptious lunch menu that will see you tucking into two courses for just £15. Start with the seasame coated chicken skewers with the peanut and coconut dip or the cauliflower cheese souffle before moving onto one of their seriously tasty mains. For us, it has to be the steak sandwich made with fillet beef strips, mushrooms, onions and gravy, topped with cheese in a crusty, hollowed out loaf.

3 small plates for £15 at Ham & Friends

Eat Leeds Restaurant Week is the perfect excuse to check out Ham & Friends, the new venture from Claire and Anthony Kitching, the brains behind Leeds favourite Friends of Ham. They now have their own dedicated restaurant, where they serve up a menu of small plates that make quality produce centre stage. From chorizo hash with caramelised onions, bean houmous and a fried egg to summer courgettes with tomato, Yellisons goats curd and marjoram, this is simple food done well and you can get three plates for just £15.

A bento box for £15 at Issho

Here’s your chance to check out the new Japanese restaurant from D&D London. They’re doing something a little bit different to the other restaurants on the list, by offering a bento box for £15. It brings together six dishes from the menu, so you can get a real taste of what they do. From sushi to tempura, yakitori to miso, you just never know what you’ll get. Not feeling that adventurous? You can always call ahead and find out what’s on the bento menu on the day.
