Yard & Coop

Yard & Coop is the home of buttermilk chicken in Leeds. They don’t cluck about here, it takes two days to get that juicy, crispy perfection. Pair it with tasty sides, creative cocktails and craft beer for a damned good night out. Ready to feel like Fried Chicken Royalty?

Bangin’ tunes, tasty birds and a brand new menu that’s deliciously dirty – Yard & Coop just got better.

Booze. Birds. Beats. That’s the winning combination Yard & Coop has made its name on. You’ll find their rockin’ restaurant-cum-bar on Merrion Street, where they serve up the finest buttermilk chicken in the land. It’s soaked in brine for 24 hours to get a depth of flavour that will absolutely blow your mind, then coated in their secret recipe crumb and cooked in a Henny Penny to seal in all that deliciousness. It’s out of this world – but don’t take our word for it, try it for yourself with our exclusive offer!

That’s right, you can get an almighty dinner for mere chicken feed. It includes anything and everything from their ‘choose your chicken’ selection, so you can fill your face with breast, thigh or drumstick, all coated in that oh-so-delicious buttermilk batter. Veggie? Halloumi nuggets, baby! They have no less than seven sauces for you to smother on your chicken. Dr Pepper BBQ, Classic Ranch or Adobo Chilli Mayo – you decide! We’ll level with you, if you pimp your fries, it’s extra, but man is it worth it.

Alternatively, you can go big with their ‘large plates’. Why not try The Dirty Katsu? You’ll get a loaded plate of fries topped with chip shop curry sauce, buttermilk fried chicken breast and ranch sauce. Utter indulgence! Your traditional roast dinner has a wild alter-ego too. Think buttermilk fried chicken, buttery mash and savoy cabbage, all served up with a duo of Yorkshire puds and lashings of gravy. Add chicken kebabs and a breakfast muffin that will put Ronald McDonald to shame to complete a menu that makes it incredibly hard to choose.

Oh wait! Burgers are included too, with the exception of the Massive Cock, because honestly, you wouldn’t be able to fit in another side if you ate that 12-inch tall behemoth. But that still leaves you with three clucking good burgers, loaded to the hilt. Personally, we’d go with The Lone Star. Who wouldn’t want to snaffle buttermilk fried chicken topped with mac and cheese, then smothered in maple bacon, crispy onions, American cheese and BBQ pulled chicken?

Whatever you choose, you can take it to the next level with one of their hot or cold sides. Flock over to the hot sides for Chicken Tots, Sweet Potato Mash and Great Grandma’s secret recipe Stuffing Balls, or bob on over to cold sides for Rainbow Root Slaw and their healthy Coop Salad. Honestly though, if you want something positively chomp-worthy, get the Chicken Tots – these deep-fried balls of pulled chicken, potato, garlic and parsley will give you a little bit more cluck for your buck.

It may not be included in the deal, but you can wash your dinner down with milkshakes, craft beer and wine – or treat yourself to one of their original cocktails. Anyone for a Jinni Hendrix?
