Tucked away under the arches, you’d be forgiven for missing Cantinho do Aziz, but we’re giving you the perfect excuse to check it out…
Cantinho do Aziz is an authentic Portuguese restaurant that’s come all the way from Lisbon. The original has been running for over 35 years, and now they’ve brought their menu of tried and tested dishes to Leeds by opening the city’s only real Portuguese restaurant. This tasty little find is hidden underneath the arches on Sovereign Place and you can try it for yourself with a £100 bar tab up for grabs.
Round up your mates for a Portuguese feast (or make it last with bargain lunches)
If you’re our lucky winner, you’ll bag £100 to spend as you like. You can use your prize to bag a medley of bargain lunches or have one blowout meal with your mates.
From 11am to 4pm Monday to Friday, they serve five of their best dishes for just £5. You can get a sandwich packed to bursting with chicken, salad, golden onions, pepperoni and sauce – or why not try their signature dish? Wuco is the work of their Leeds chef Rafa Sulemange and it promises tender pieces of chicken breast in a sweet coconut and peanut sauce.
Alternatively, you can hit the a la carte menu. Everything is made fresh on site, including their bread, still warm from the oven. Expect a raft of dishes you’ve never tried before alongside classics like garlic prawns and sizzling fillet steak. The highlight of the menu comes from Executive Chef and Co-Owner Jeny Sulemange – N’Biji Com Marisco brings together boneless Nile fish, prawns, crab and seafood in a rich coconut and palm oil sauce.
