This weekend marks 5 years of Kirkstall Bridge Inn and 1 year of The Cardigan Arms, so they’re celebrating with a bar-hopping bash – and you’re invited!
Back in 2013, Kirkstall Brewery opened their first Leeds pub. 5 years later, Kirkstall Bridge Inn is a popular local with a hoard of fans and a sister venue in The Cardigan Arms. Now they’re coming together to celebrate their joint birthday on Sunday 29th September 2018. The Kirkstall Birthday Beanfeast promises a hoard of activities, entertainment and beer at all three venues – and we’ve got another great reason for you to go, because we’re giving away an almighty prize. Don’t worry if you can’t make it though, because you can take it another time.
All aboard the beer bus!
This is a bar-hopping day out, but as you probably know, there’s a bit of distance between Kirkstall Brewery’s three venues, so they’re putting on a bus service. Jump on board to move between all three venues, because we’ve lined up something special in each.
If you’re our lucky winner, you’ll start at Kirkstall Bridge Inn at 12.30pm. They’re serving up a special menu made with their beers and we’ve bagged you a table for 4 with a round of Kirkstall Brewery beers. This is your chance to try Omnipresent, the ultimate collaborative beer made with 15 acclaimed breweries, including Five Points, North Brew Co. and Verdant. While you’re here, you can enjoy live acoustic music in the cave, treat the kids to face painting and go on treasure hunts. Don’t forget to come back at 4.30pm for the ‘Big Fat Quiz’ either.
After lunch, head to Kirkstall Brewery for a private tour and a chance to try their brews fresh from the tanks at the pop-up bar, including Virtuous, an aromatic session IPA that’s 100% vegan-friendly and gluten-free. Then it’s off to The Cardigan Arms for their famous sausage rolls and another round of Kirkstall beers. Fancy something different this time? They’ve got Verdita Sour, a collaboration with Magic Rock Brewing Co. that takes inspiration from the legendary tequila chaser. Expect a session sour with lime, pineapple and coriander.
There’s a bag of goodies waiting for the winner at The Cardigan Arms, including a shirt, a hat, a tote bag and a set of badges, you’ll even get a case of 24 Virtuous cans to take home. But don’t go just yet, there’s plenty to keep you busy. From 7pm, they’ll have a Bratwurst barbecue and German beers in the yard, in case you’re feeling the Oktoberfest vibes, and inside you can enjoy food from Sicilian street food vendor Poco, while you listen to hip-hop, funk and disco tunes from the live DJ.
