A street food extravaganza in the beautiful surroundings of The Piece Hall, Chow Down is a must-do this summer…
Leeds Indie Food has teamed up with New Citizens to create Chow Down, a brand new summer market that has all the things we love – we’re talking street food, local ales, live music, family entertainment and even a craft market curated by local favourites &/Or Emporium. But it’s not in Leeds, it’s at The Piece Hall, a beautifully restored cloth hall in Halifax. This incredible Grade I listed building is now filled with shops and restaurants, so it’s an attraction in its own right – and this is the perfect excuse to go!
Feast on street food, while you sup cocktails, craft beer and Aperol Spritz
Now then, we’ve got an almighty prize lined up for you. Not only can you get £100 worth of street food on us, but we’ll also throw in £100 of drinks and cover your travel too. Plus, you’ll get a private table at the event and a Chow Down t-shirt each.
The first thing you have to decide is when you want to go. Chow Down will take over The Piece Hall for one weekend a month until September, so you’re sure to find a date that suits. Then you’ve got the tricky task of choosing what to eat. The line-up changes every month, and it’ll have at least 25% vegan and vegetarian food every time. Expect everything from African BBQ to loaded burgers, wood-fired pizzas and cookie dough.
It’s not just food though. You can work your way through their local ales and craft beers, treat yourself to a cocktail from a converted ice cream van or make a beeline for the prosecco truck – the choice is yours. While you’re there, they’ll have live music, DJs, family entertainment and a market with everything from local produce to arts and crafts.
