The House Boat Hotels
Looking for a city break with a difference? The House Boat Hotels are just the ticket. Permanently moored on Victoria Quays in Sheffield, these static houseboats have been given an apartment-style makeover and are just a five-minute walk from the city’s bars and shops. Humble Bee Farm
If you’re looking for a family escape to the heart of Yorkshire, Humble Bee Farm is an instant winner. Nestled in the Yorkshire Wolds, it’s a working farm that has amazing activities including the Wildlife Ramble, lambing or calving and the Bat Watch. You can stay in cottages, wigwams, yurts and bell tents, and your trip is given a luxury feel with electric appliances in each. They also now have a wigwam with running water if you want the complete luxury experience, and there’s a BBQ you can use if you feel like it. Dogs are welcome too.

Just outside of York, you’ll find Jollydays, a campsite with a difference. It’s an eco-chic boutique camping experience open from March until December, set in 200 acres of woodland. You’ll stay in a deluxe cabin lodge, complete with a four-poster bed, fridge and wood burning stoves, which has space for up to six. There’s also a campfire area where you can BBQ or, if you fancy eating in, Van Outersteps will deliver food straight to your tent. While you’re here, you can try a host of activities, with everything from archery to polo. The Yorkshire Wolds and North York Moors National Park are just a few miles away, too.

The New Inn Brewery Tap
This one is for the beer lovers. The New Inn is a traditional family-run pub just outside Pickering but it has a couple of secrets to reveal. At the bottom of the garden lie The Great Yorkshire Brewery and Cropton Brewery. You can try out their beers in the pub and even go on a brewery tour with more than a few samples on your way around. You’ll need somewhere to rest your head too, and you can pitch a tent in their camping field, pick from their nine en-suite guest rooms or go all out with a stay in the 200 year old Brewers Cottage, which has all the mod cons you’ll need for a memorable stay.
