Think your band is the best in Leeds? Here is your chance to compete in Battle of The Bands and show the city what you’ve got.
Ever dream that your band’s name will be lit up in bright lights, as you perform to millions of fans? Well, Battle of the Bands at The Light might just put you on the road to stardom. But you’ll want to get your entries in quick, because the deadline is coming up on Sunday 16th November 2014. The question is, have you got it?
The Light have teamed up with Radio Aire for an X-Factor style talent contest that will see bands from all over the city compete for local supremacy. All you have to do is grab your band mates, create a winning video of yourselves playing and send the link to the radio station before the deadline.
Whether you’re a budding singer-songwriter, an indie rock band or fancy yourself as the next hip hop star, Battle of The Bands is looking for you. A team of music experts will weed out the best video entries and if you’re one of the five finalists, you’ll get to perform at The Light in front of a panel of judges on Saturday 29th November 2014, with an exclusive after party at Tiger Tiger.
Finalists will have the opportunity to play for an audience, not to mention the panel of judges – award-winning radio host and DJ Stu Tolan will be joined by folks from The Music Room, Leeds Student Radio as well as Leeds-List.com.
There are some cracking prizes up for grabs too. The Battle of The Bands winner will get further opportunities to perform live for the public at The Light at future events, accessories from The Music Room and a brand new Tanglewood Les Paul style guitar to play with as you enjoy some free studio time to get your music out to the masses.
And that’s not all you’ll walk away with. The winning band also gets £1,000 in cash and a featured spot on Radio Aire’s The Kam Kelly Breakfast Show a week later. All this on top of being crowned the best band in Leeds, isn’t something to be sniffed at – may the best artists win.
Battle of The Bands final showcase is at The Light on Saturday 29th November 2014 at 5pm. Free entry. Deadline for entries is midnight on Sunday 16th November 2014.
