Latte, coffee, cafe

Another week, another batch of new openings coming soon to Leeds – here’s everything you need to know about a trio of fresh arrivals.

The pace that new openings are landing in Leeds shows no sign of slowing down and we’ve got another tasty trio of newbies to let you in on. Japanese food lovers will soon be making plans to take a trip to Headingley while caffeine fiends will have a duo of new speciality coffee shops to choose from in the city centre. Check out what’s on the way and what they’ll bring to Leeds.

The Clubhouse Coffee & Cycles

Coffee, cafe

Skipton insiders will know all about The Clubhouse Coffee & Cycles – it’s the town’s go-to caffeine stop that doubles as a shop selling Factor bikes and offering bike racking. Now, they’re pedalling over to the big city, taking over the old Wolf Street Food on St Paul’s Street. They’re bringing award-winning coffee to the city’s business district, which is made using beans from all over the world in their Skipton micro-roastery. Cyclists can use their racking facilities too.

The Clubhouse Coffee & Cycles is opening at 8a St Paul’s Street in summer 2022.

Tada

Japanese yakitori skewers

Of all the cuisines found in Headingley, Japanese food has been the curious absence – until now. The former Dare Cafe on Otley Road is currently being transformed into Nippon-centric wonderland split across two floors. Downstairs, you’ll find a traditional sushi bar where you can devour all the nigiri and uramaki your appetite allows, while upstairs takes inspiration from modern Japanese dining, pairing yakitori and ramen with sakes, cocktails and Japanese whiskies.

Tada is opening at 49 Otley Road, Headingley in July 2022.

Black Sheep Coffee

The paint has barely dried on Black Sheep Coffee’s first Leeds home on Bond Street, yet they’re already planning their second city centre cafe, which is set to open later this summer. They’ve taken over the former Pandora jewellery store on the city’s busiest shopping street, so you’ve got the perfect place for a mid-splurge pitstop. Get ready for the world’s first speciality grade robusta beans, in mugs, takeaway cups and bags to enjoy at home, alongside cakes and sarnies.

Black Sheep Coffee is opening at 97 Briggate in late 2022.
