5 Fantastic New Openings Coming to Leeds This Summer

The city’s streets are changing yet again with a handful of new shops, cafés and restaurants.

Whether you’re a coffee connoisseur, an avid collector or a lover of Mediterranean cuisine, there’s something new to discover for everyone in this round-up of five new spots opening in Leeds this summer. Which are you most excited for?

The Banksia

The latest addition to the city’s Mediterranean food scene, The Banksia is a vibrant bar and restaurant combining bold flavours, fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and colourful interiors for a modern dining experience that’s grounded in authenticity. The menu, crafted by award-winning chef Craig Rogan, will offer a delicious variety of small plates, perfect for group celebrations, date nights and experimental diners who love to try a bit of everything. There’s also a dedicated ‘Fire’ menu, paying homage to classic Mediterranean cooking styles, and a bar menu of nibbles for those looking to line their stomachs during a post-work or weekend tipple.

The Banksia will open at Hotel Indigo this summer.

The Habitum

The Habitum is a cool new coffee shop that helps you upgrade your daily coffee ritual with added convenience. Run by the former owner of La Bottega Milanese, the Habitum boasts a self-service system allowing you to grab premium roast coffees, pastries and other tasty light snacks at great prices and without the hassle of traditional cafés. It’s perfect for anyone who needs their coffee fix fast and fuss-free.

The Habitum will open on Hunslet Road in July.

Pop Mart

Leeds Labubu lovers will be delighted to learn that Pop Mart is coming to town – no more waiting for deliveries of your favourite figures. The dealer of designer collectibles will be setting up shop next to Queen’s arcade, providing a one-stop shop for all the plushies, miniatures and branded memorabilia you could possibly want. Their signature blind boxes, bag charms and cute candle collections make for great, unique gifts and accessories to set you apart from the crowd.

Pop Mart will open on Briggate this summer.

Leeds Baby Bank

The incredible Leeds Baby Bank that provides support to hundreds of families across the city is planning to expand their operations with a move to a new, bigger space in Armley. As well as increasing their capacity for donations, the move will allow them to run groups and workshops and offer advocacy sessions, giving families housing, employment and financial advice. They’re currently fundraising for the move and all monetary donations are welcome.

Leeds Baby Bank is scheduled to open in Armley in July.

Wingstop

It looks like Wingstop is taking over the city with a fourth restaurant set to open in Thorpe Park this summer. They’re moving into the former Burger Priest venue in The Springs, adding their eleven mouth-watering flavours to the centre’s existing eateries, which include Wagamamas and Nandos. Now you’ll be able to get your flavour fix no matter what corner of the city you live in – where there’s a Wingstop, there’s a way!

Wingstop is opening at The Springs, Thorpe Park this July.
