Ready for another set of new openings? We’ve got the lowdown on five new additions coming to Leeds over the next few months. There’s a live arts venue, a wine bar and a bakery, not to mention two foodie arrivals in West Leeds. Take a look at the new openings ready to bring a bit of joy our way when lockdown ends.
The Old Woollen
The folk behind The Constitutional and Trouble at the Mill in Farsley have teamed up with Sunny Bank Mills to create a brand new arts venue. The Old Woollen is a 600-capacity space that will host live music, comedy and theatre. The venue is ready to go, complete with a bar full of craft beer and local spirits, they’re just waiting for restrictions to be eased to open.
The Old Woollen is opening in Farsley in 2021.
Scoff’s is a new plant-based cafe and sandwich bar in the heart of Horsforth. The focus is on feel good food, without the meat. Fancy breakfast? Try the Ultimate Breakfast Burrito or Scrambled Tof’egg on Toast. Looking for lunch? There’s everything from hot and cold sarnies to pies, burgers and jacket potatoes, as well as a whole menu of coeliac-friendly eats.
Scoff’s is opening in Horsforth on 15th March 2021.
Fika North Wine Shop & Deli
The old Beer Ritz in Headingley won’t be empty for long – neighbours Fika North have taken it over and will transform the old unit into a new-concept wine shop and micro deli. You can look forward to hand-picked wines, local craft beers and a wide range of spirits, served with the perfect accompaniments, namely locally-sourced breads, meats and cheeses.
Fika North Wine Shop & Deli is opening at 14 Weetwood Lane, Headingley in Spring 2021.
After a couple of years away, the folk at Boss Burgers have been hard at work at their next venture alongside their recent pop-ups – introducing Fare Bakery. It promises to be a coffee shop, bakery and wine bar all rolled into one. Few details have been released yet, but get ready for homemade bakes, locally-sourced coffee and hand-picked bottles of plonk.

Brontae’s is the realisation of a dream for 25-year-old chef, Dale Spink. He’s spent the past 12 years building two foodie delivery businesses, D’s Meal Prep and Le Voyage Dining Experience, and now he’s opening his first restaurant. He’s taken over what used to be The Forge on New Road Side and you can expect a menu of refined, modern dishes, inspired by classic European cuisine.
