From mini golf to vintage stores – these are the new openings coming soon to Leeds.
Are you ready for another batch of new openings? We’ve got another six to tell you about and they’re an eclectic bunch. There’s a new peri peri chicken restaurant in the city centre, a mini golf venue at The Springs and three bars out in the suburbs, including two new brewery taps. So if you want to know what’s coming soon to Leeds, keep reading because we’ve got the lowdown.
Lambert’s Bar and Cookhouse
Lambert’s Bar and Restaurant will open this spring on Town Street. It’s currently undergoing a full refurbishment by new owners G & G Inns Ltd. They have seven other bars across the North but this will be their first in Leeds. Once complete, it will be a rustic pub-style watering hole where you can sup craft beers, wines and cocktails. They’ll have food too, with a focus on steaks and classic pub grub.
Lambert’s Bar and Cookhouse will open in Horsforth by the end of April 2020.
Casa Peri Peri
Casa Peri Peri will open at the end of the month in the former Estabulo on St Peter’s Place. They’ve taken over the restaurant and given it a bright, colourful makeover. Once open, you can pore over a wide-ranging menu of Afro-Portuguese favourites, with everything from classic peri peri chicken to stews, steaks and soups. It will also have a separate bar area where you can sup craft beers and cocktails.
Casa Peri Peri will open in St Peter’s Place, Leeds by the end of March 2020.
Black Sheep Tap & Kitchen
Black Sheep Brewery took over Kith & Kin last year and now they’re putting their own stamp on it. It’s the first Black Sheep Tap to open and they’re giving it a makeover to fit. You can look forward to more Black Sheep beers than anywhere else in Leeds across 8 cask pumps and 12 keg lines. They’ll serve hand-picked wines and creative cocktails too. Hungry? You can pair your pint with a menu of pub classics.
Black Sheep Tap & Kitchen will open in Chapel Allerton on Friday 28th February 2020.
Cow is one of the biggest vintage shops in the UK. Since opening in Manchester a decade ago, they’ve branched out to cities across the North and now they’re coming to Leeds. They specialise in preloved clothes and accessories from designer labels but their most popular line is their reworked items. Their crack team of designers take old clothes and upcycle them to match today’s fashions.
Cow Vintage will open in Leeds city centre in 2020.
The UK’s first Puttstars centre will open at The Springs this March. The £2.5 million venue will have three 9-hole golf courses, each with a different theme. Gone are the days of using pen and paper to keep score, because everything’s tallied up electronically here. It’s completely family-friendly and you can do much more than just play mini-golf. They have an arcade to keep you busy after your round, and if you get peckish, you can head to their retro American diner.
Puttstars will open at The Springs in March 2020.
Handsome Brew will open their first permanent taproom in Leeds this May. The Lake District-based brewery has Leeds roots thanks to its local owners who have taken over the old fancy dress shop by the University of Leeds. They’ve torn the insides out and are building it back up again to create a traditional-yet-modern pub, with mahogany tables and dark wood walls. You’ll be able to try all their core beers at the bar, from the FKR craft lager to the Strange pale ale.
Handsome Brew will open on Woodhouse Lane in May 2020.
